I currently have netflix but am looking at changing to Amazon prime..

Anyone got it? Can you pay monthly or do you have to stump up the £79 in one go? X

No it's not monthly. One off payment of £79 but that's not bad. Pay more with Netflix

it's got to be the stump up fee, but then you don't have any monthly payments.

It catches out a lot of people who sign up for the free month, especially around Christmas time, who don't cancel in time.

What's the film/TV choices like? Any newer stuff? Netflix is mostly old stuff.

Amazon prime is £79 but Amazon Instant Video you should be able to just pay monthly... I pay £5 a month for Amazon instant video, I don't have amazon Prime. But then I've had a subscription with them that has carried on since they were lovefilm.

You can get a free trial of prime (stream stuff only). I'm on it at the minute.

Nothing that good on it i feel, like mostly old stuff that was popular at the time and loads of stuff i haven't heard of. Also hardly anything i ordered online gets the prime postage so it is being cancelled and i'm going back to other free online sites that virginmedia haven't blocked yet.

You get 1 month trial but have to cancel it in 2 weeks if you want to cancel it.

Thank you for reminding me to cancel my trial, almost forgot with a day to go.

Going to have to do a month trial in hubbys name for prime day.

I use Netflix (I say I when I mean the kids) but there's lots on there for them. I struggle to find something I want to watch. I cant see amazons being much better but if you buy lots online that are eligible the next day delivery is great.

If you're going to sign up to prime anyway then it's some free TV. If you were choosing it for the TV if struggle to recommend it. Unlike others they tend to trick you a little by switching shows between the free prime and their pay per view service. So they will let you watch season one of something for free and then you find to watch the next season they want £15. I find that a bit of a sneaky business model and prefer Netflix and NOW TV because of their one off fee.

For those struggling to find stuff on Netflix, try using something like hola extension. It let's you browse as if from different countries, USA Netflix has far more that I want to watch than the UK version

Both a rip off. Just get a smart box from ebay and you can watch everything for free as long as you have a good internet connection

I have both after getting stung with Amazon last Christmas when I forgot to cancel my free trial. It does show Vikings which is an excellent watch but it's nothing special.

I watch Netflix more after changing DNS settings and getting American Netflix although this is getting harder to do.

I've had a Droidbox for 3 months now, got access to absolutely everything (on amazon / netflix / sky / virgin / all sport / films etc) for nothing. Box costs £70 and that's it - need a good internet connection though.

We switched from Amazon to Netflix, mostly due to the Netflix software being better

I have both. Netflix is mainly outdated stuff or films that didn't take off (great for falling asleep to). AmazonPrime has much more dated things on it, plus comes with other added extra. I ordered 2 books last night at 9pm and they were here today by 12pm (shocked) all because I have amazon prime
