We rarely look at local updates as we end up blocking the ones who constantly put Facebook style statuses up .
Interestingly they tend to be the same people who have been on the site for ages with no meets .

I don't agree with the inference that fab should only be used within a sexual context.
Swinging isn't just sex, it's a very social hobby, so when people write statuses about their dog or their holiday or their car etc, it gives you a quick glimpse of their interests etc and that is illegally an excellent way to start a conversation.

Both here and on Facebook I feel a bit sad for people who update their status constantly even when they're having a day out or are on holiday. I wonder if they feel that it isn't valid until someone on the internet knows about it or they can only enjoy it if they've told other people. But it isn't my business really and it's not hurting anyone. The statuses that do make me a bit cross are the passive aggressive ones and the "you know who you are" ones but again nobody is being harmed by them |

Some people here know each other well, so status updates will have a range of purposes, given the style of relationships and interactions here.
Not everything in Fab is done to communicate with others sexually and to people that users don't know. Assuming everyone is just trying to score here vastly misses the mark.
I pay attention to some status updates and most I don't. In a similar vein to not noticing most peoples clothes or behavior when out shopping.
I'm indifferent to stuff that is irrelevant to me and accept we'll all use fab differently. |

I do t think you realise this site is not just about sex.
For me its about the friends I have made here , relationships built between my friends. Some plutonic some a bit more.
I post about my dog often . The replies I get are genuine , friends who have an interest in my well being qs u have in theirs .
So I think every body is free to use their profiles and the site as they wish.
