No I don't .... OFCOM would not allow the public to be duped and if they found out any irregularities, they would fine heavily.

Not fixed, but social engineering in the reactions from judges, how the people are presented, the editing of the things like 'this weeks rehearsals' all conspire to allow manipulation.

Want to be on TV, just post videos online of yourself having sex and millions will watch if they are any good.

I agree partially, the editing of the participants is just manipulation so it is fixed in some ways, I never watch the programme after the auditions which are the best bit for me

Very clever manipulation

Those that the judges know will get through with no problem and they want through - get to open the show. Those that they want to get through are put on at strategic moments - just before the add break so you talk about the judges comments, or the last act - so fresh in your mind for the voting

And they do talk up the ones they want through.

The " Im not sending either girl home" act by Cheryl has been exposed as being organised during the ad break as soon as it was realised two of her acts were going to sing off, If it had gone to tie break and then the phone votes counted same as last year with Jedward, then Tracy would have still been in and that other daft bint would have gone

But the daft bint sells papers and makes "good " tv

anything that involves the public paying a high cost phone line to vote will be manipulated for the ratings.

if someone popular with the shows producers and a ratings winner they will not be removed.

i never ring in to vote and do not watch any of these reality programmes.

most of the people are not stars in the first place.

all these programmes show is that in this country we have a section of people who are quite frankly beyond the pale.

There are many sites promoting voting for Wagner. They are doing it because they don't like the show and keeping him in makes a mockery of it. The voting is manipulated but i dont think by the show's makers.

what would be stoping a person like simon worth loads of money having people call in, maybe he would never do this but if he had 100s doing it could swing the voting on shows like this.

Yes but in the past years talent has won through ie leona and the lovely alexandra so it is a good show case for talent x factor is definately a money maker from phone votes and x factor tour and quite a few that have'nt won have gone on to record contracts and other deals I love seeing them at butlins every year.

Of course the X Factor is fixed..believe me nothing on TV is how you see it...Cheryl Coles '''im not voting''' charade was pre-arranged during the break..they were obviously under orders to keep Katie in and dump Tracy...sorry..Treyc even though she had three times more votes..and the better singer imo...thats why Dermot went straight to Cheryl before asking the other two...even though he knew who they were going to pick..

everything that involve money or power are open to 'fixing' 'corruption'or 'bending of rules'

people are not always totally honest.

who knew?

If I give a quote for a job and can undercut others because someone has told me what they quoted, is that cheating or astute business practise.

people do it to me ,so i do it to them

'Post hoc ergo propter hoc'

"Do you think shows like xfactor ones where people vote are fixed even if thay call in pay pounds for calls to vote ?"
Nmy mates sister was on last year and got to the judges house. She sang great but was not picked, people from Peterborough will know her her name is Nicole, chatting to her she reckons they had made there minds up already on who they wanted,

Phone call wise I'm not sure as ofcom would step in. But wagner is getting the votes some how.

Reply privately, Reply in forum +quote or View forums list

By (user no longer on site)  over a year ago

but is wagner 'not' getting votes and being kept in by cowell to keep it in the papaers or are people voting for wagner en masse in an attempt to subvert the whole programme.

let's say wagner wins because of a concerted effort by the public. would that constitute a 'fix'. and who profits from all the votes cast for wagner?

cowell must be quaking in his boots,

the public get what they want and cowell rakes it in.

rage against the machine kept the x factor winner from the number one spot last xmas

the record labels of RATM and joe whateverhisnamewas are both subsideries of sony.

so a protest download resulted in the same profit sony was expecting had the rage song not been bought

Is it possible to influence the results… I would say it is,,,, Simply by manipulating the allocation of contestants song choice and musical arraignments,,, their subsequent performing slot within the shows airing timetable. The subjective choice of personal styling and grooming to match the artists personality and therefore appeal to his or her natural target audience or demographic. Effective use or misuse of appropriate staging and choreography in relation to that weeks specialist song choice category. Not to mention any careful editing of in-show inter_iews and off screen press releases… But fixing the phone vote,,,, nahhh… and nobody is forced to watch,….or vote

If there was more "Talent" then maybe it would be worth watching but I cringe at the people on at the moment.... Each to their own though
