Glasgow

I've become majorly obsessed with listening to Stephan Bodzin's album Powers Of 10.

I highly highly highly recommend it for anyone even remotely interested in ambient techno. & even those who roll their eyes at the term "ambient techno" Try it, it's bloody amazing!!

Big ambient techno fan here... but sorry this all sounded a bit cookie cutter to me. I like my ambient to have more emotional content and more originality... like this opening track from the Bola - Soup album (which is an awesome album btw)

I must confess that I make ambient techno though so that's why I can tell when someone's made an effort with it or just plopped down a bunch of loops from a sample CD and tried to make a quick buck from it. Good ambient is extremely well crafted music. It's basically the avant garde of classical music... if only the classical music establishment would realise that the era of violins and trombones etc is over. Music is free to be whatever you can imagine it to be.
