We are currently on a short break in Dorset, and had a meet planned for this afternoon. But, our date were unable to make it, so Kate and I went to a local Cider Farm.
Kate bought some Jam and some honey.......and £65 worth of booze
We got some Jack Ratts Scrumpy, £8 for 5 litres. We tried it in shot sized tots and I swear you could run the car on this stuff. Had a nice warn glow inside.
We're going home on Friday and will invite some friends round this weekend to share it with, hope we can still shag after a few pints of this stuff |

Cider may be known as a Somerset drink, Somerset Tea in some cases, but it just goes to show you`ve got to watch us Darrzzzetttt kiddies! One of these days, I`ll have to do some proper job country whisky, the recipe being given to me by a fellow villager.
Pour 1 litre of whisky into a demi-john. Add 1lb sugar and 1lb blackberries. Add a cork and air trap to the neck. Aggitate regularly and gradually add a further 2 litres of whisky, 3lbs of sugar and 3lbs of blackberries. Do this over a timespread of three weeks or when the air bubbles slow down. After all ingredients are added, keep agitating and allow to settle until no further air bubbles can be seen in the air trap. Strain and bottle. The strainings can be added to a cake or pudding mix to make a great boozy pudding or cake.
Beware though that the alkyhole content of the whisky may be slightly higher!!! |
