Depends which way they're all facing, and with the welsh being such a contrary bunch, they'd all face different directions...meaning the net effect would be nil, geographically speaking. |

Tut Silly! The oceans wouldn't go any deeper if we removed the sponges, technically the oceans would become slightly shallower without their physical presence, however the water volume would not change.
I'm more concerned with how the water sticks to the earth and doesn't fall off and put out the sun. |
