so, the bbc reports that the decision to vote against the legislation to ban fox hunting is being put on hold as it is believed that there aren't enough mp's to carry the vote forward.

in the meantime, they will be "wining and dining" potential candidates to help sway the vote.

good to see that there are people being put out of work so the government can use the money to manipulate the real issues affecting the uk eh?!

Anyone who lives a rural lifestyle will know that hunting still occurs and more foxes are killed annually on the roads than by hunts anyway.

"Anyone who lives a rural lifestyle will know that hunting still occurs and more foxes are killed annually on the roads than by hunts anyway."

slightly missing the point....my point is that they are going to pay to take these mp's out and shmooze them into voting in their direction.

this when this country is making soo many cuts in every other department.

why is this issue taking any prominence at all

and i do live in a rural area...i couldnt get more rural if i lived out the back of a tractor...my garden gets invaded by sheep and deer on a daily basis....and i'm yet to see one hunt

They don't hunt around here anymore since the ban......

Anyway the point was that there are more pressing matters for the coalition to concentrate on than wining and dining people to make hunting with dogs legal again.....just to satisfy a tiny minority of the population.

They will still hunt foxes. But not with dogs that's all and just as many if not more will be culled.

I wasn't missing the point meerly being deliberately obtuse as I found you post a bit whiny!

If you wanted to criticise politicians, you could do it any day of the week on virtually any subject.

A part of me thinks thats the only use for em, to have something to complain about

And as for "not hunting since the ban" I live in the middle of an area where Legal Hunting happens on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays. FACT.

So ner!

Yes but the vote that is being considered again for the House of Commons is Hunting Foxes with Dogs....which hasn't been legal for some time.

You are missing the point, the OP pointed out that the coalition government means to use parliamentary time and expenses accounts to wine and dine MP's to overturn a law....

It wasn't about whether people are breaking the law, it goes on but so have prosecutions for flouting the ban.

Interesting point though that hunt supporters fully expect the law of the land to be on their side when someone breaks into their Landrover and nicks their Satnav, or gypsies settle on their farmland.

So it's a case of pick n mix as to what laws some people think are ok to break?, wonder what would happen if everyone in the country felt and acted this way?

Particularly as there is a push for the nation to exercise a degree of austerity, still I suppose the Tories were expected to exhibit a bit of payback for the votes that almost (but not quite) won them a working majority in the election.

My question is what the massive anti hunt lobby in the Lib Dems will make of it.....or will they just roll over and pucker up their a-holes for their lords and masters?

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

"Crazy to think they can wine and dine on the tab of the state for votes, sounds corrupt to me "

Perfect summing up. The target law isn't relevant. This should be about corrupt politicians, fox hunting is a different discussion.

The Lib Dems have to be good for something I suppose.....anyway, power corrupts and its corrupting this lot a little quicker than it should
