Just read about a guy that commutes 1000's of miles to do a couple of days work but it's well worth it for him.
I'm lucky that my daily commute takes less than 30 mins, it's a lovely drive and I can work from home sometimes too.
Do you have far to travel to work? Is it a nice journey that you enjoy or done under duress? |

"My commute is an absolute nightmare.
I have to walk down a whole flight of stairs. Some mornings it can take a whole minute. Really not sure how much longer I can put up with this
"

I have the same commute, the traffic on the way can be horrific sometimes..................fookin cat sleeps in the damnedest of places "
My flaming cats do that too. One was asleep on the bathroom mat yesterday!
Do you miss not having anyone to talk to? I enjoy the banter when I go into the office. |

Least you can have a blast on your bike! "
It's no fun on a motorway though but by god it beats sitting in traffic for 2 hours ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

I work from home so the only congestion that I have to endure is battling my way passed the two cats ![](/icons/s/2/cute.gif) |

In my old job I was a lone wolf too so I've never had that office banter type thing. I've always worked alone. It's a pretty solitary existence but it pays the bills.
A bit of the banter void is filled during the day by my inane waffling here ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

It pisses me off when I get to the kettle and someone is already there. Makes me want to turn around and go back to bed. |

I've done commuting by air - not private jet - and flying can get tedious. Though staff who know you ease the way, if a little late.
Now, as a student again, I have a very early start, usually combining gym and sub 30 minutes, with quiet traffic. |

2 mile walk in for me. Lovely. Music, possiblecoffee stop, time to properly wake up and face the day. If I'm making good time I even grab a nice lunch salad thing on the way through town. The only issue with the walk is the state of my hair when I get there. And having to dry my duffle coat out on a radiator in the winter. |

I used to work from home, but the commute got too much so I retired for 10 years
I work 34 weeks a year now though and hate the 80 mile round trip commute, but love the job and the time off eases the pain. |

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire) |
My office base is 15 miles away, the commute can take anything from about 15 minutes to an hour (I love the A96 - a main artery with a section controlled by traffic lights that is one direction of traffic at a time) but we cover a large area - so my commute can be walking within my village (its in my patch) or 25 miles - which can take 90 minutes at busy times. |

"I dont even have to get out of bed
More details required, although on the face of it, a transfer to your place sounds appealing.
What are the perks? "
