So I am very open with my friends, family, close colleagues about my sexual life. I don't feel ashamed, and am quite loud and proud about who I am and do like to share stories. However recently I got a kind of "intervention" by a few people saying I have a sex addiction. They feel what I do is not normal, totally outrageous and I must have a problem!! One of my fellow fab friends has had a similar experience. I said to my friends, my adventures are nothing compared to some (they really need to join here lol) but still insist I do have a problem.
So sorry, but if I have a problem, then most of us on here do too!! Lol do you feel or others feel you have a sex addiction, your perverted, fucked in the head?

I'm a sex addict, in recovery a lot of the time. 
Some people will genuinely care about you though and be worried. Just confirm to them that you're playing safe (not just condoms but personal safety too) and they won't worry as much about you. |

Of course there is that genuine line between fun and having a real problem but yes some people are too closed minded.

If your life is as you wish it to be, then there's no problem. If there's some truth in what they say, consider it- but it probably is just a reflection of their different tastes and about them alone and not you.
It can be easier not telling others the full details of your sex life - not from shame but because some don't handle it so well. |

To be honest most of us on here would quite easily get diagnosed with sexual addiction.. however for me I dont feel its an issue till it controls your life.
Before I met Mr I would often putsex before anything.. now I'm more focused. You have to ask yourself how Much of it causes a problem.
I'm not ashamed of my lifestyle and I am quite open... But I also am aware that I have an addiction that does need keeping in check.

I'm open about my lifestyle with my mates and my nearest work colleagues...the guy I share an office with knows what I get up to in my free time and is fine with it, a few other colleagues and my boss are also aware of it, and the majority of my mates are hugely interested in what I get up to in my spare time to the extent of expressing an interest in coming to a club eventually when I have my 50th in 2017 - watch this space as to whether a bunch of vanillas turn up  |

Sex addiction? Maybe not.
Firstly, the total number of all users on here is but a tiny percentage of the adult population. It doesn't rise much more if all sites and club users are totalled together.
Secondly, there are undoubtedly a reasonable number of folks in the "vanilla" world getting much more sex that most on here. They're more likely to be sex addicts than most on here. |

My friends know I'm a perv to varying degrees.

I keep our private life separate from any friends and family or work colleagues whereas Mr tells his work colleagues. If I ever met them, I would say he is a fantasist anyway. I'm not a sex addict, the sex is not the thrill for me, in fact I enjoy watching, I like the decadence of the parties, the characters you encounter, the clubs. I don't have a high sex drive.
Whilst my friends enjoy meals out, theatre, spas etc, I enjoy fetish clubs. Swingers clubs, decadent private parties. I don't discuss it with them, they wouldn't understand and would find it scary. Personally we keep it quite for sake of our "professions", can't go to certain clubs eithet but we definitely would like to speak about it openly that's for sure and will sometime in the future.
