Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Those little signs, and all their "comedy" progeny..."little princess on board"...what's the concept there?

"Please try extra hard not to crash into me as I have the future of our world strapped in?"

Trust me, I couldn't be trying any harder not to crash, and that's just for selfish reasons...

I think the idea was started in the States and the idea was to let the emergency services know there was a small child in the car, Kinda falls down when the car did not have a small child in it at the time of any accident.

I seem to remember an accident where a mother was taken to the hospital unconscious and they found a small child jammed under the rear set or between the rear seat and the roof of the car, something like that a good while after accident (hours I mean)

Just my thoughts and recollections for what they are worth lol

I think they are very usefull, I never rear end cars if there is a baby on board sticker in the back.

Yes thank the states for them namely Forrest Gump who gave the idea to that T Shirt man while he was out jogging for a few years

...whatever the reason, they don't work.

I've discovered that if someone wants to drive like an arsehole and risk the lives of other peoples kids, thy do so anyway...with or without the pointer.

I had a guy in a people carrier tailgate me for miles, its was a nightmare, after practically sitting in my back sit for 15 min he overtook on a blind bend into oncoming traffic and almost caused a pile up, I thought " you utter prick" as a noticed the BACK OFF baby on board sign in his rear window. My nan always said...some people are born dick heads, others learn to be

There is not enough done by the police (who seem more interested in lone vehicles speeding in off peak hours on empty roads) and highway authorities to use the camera technology available to record speed and distance between vehicles on motorways and other fast roads and punish properly the above mentioned arseholes. Hefty fines, penalty points and imprisonment should be the threat for these idiots who tailgate and carry out other forms of aggressive and selfish driving. It is not acceptable to put the lives of other innocent road users, their children and nearest and dearest at risk. Unfortunately until there is sufficient deterrent I think they will continue to do so regardless.

as someone who used to have such a sign in the car when my youngest was a baby ...and I was with my ex so had a car...it was more so being a proud parent. would hope that people would be driving safely whether I had a baby in the car or not

Then we have the sign which states "Showdogs in transit" ! or " I love my Jack Russell"

They probably cause more rear end shunts by drivers getting too close whilst trying to read the bloody sticker

Agree, a lot of the time its the drivers who actually have their kids in the car who drive like dick heads, and they do often have the child on board signs.

FSM????

i drove past a group of girls in a micra o the way to cannock the other weekend which had 'honk if you want a blow job' in the back of their car - odd that there was a long line of cars not wanting to overtake them

in the night garden

These stickers are very dangerous.

I always try and read these stickers but in doing so I'm distracted and invariably mount the pavement. I've killed 3 people and numerous dogs as a direct result of attempting to read these stickers.

The signs unfortunately are not really going to improve things in my opinion, what about the Motorcyclist or lone Driver should they have Family to support at Home stickers on show ?

Even as Drivers People make judgements like oh a Biker or Truck Driver should anyone be seen as any different or should we all be more considerate to everyone else on the Road as we have no idea about who or what they are

I think they're a terrible idea, I heard of a fire man being bady burnt at the scene of a car accident as he was looking for the baby as they had one of those signs in the car - the baby wasn't in the car at all. Z

Can I get one that says back off you Arsehole, as people have a nasty habit of driving too close...sooooo annoying

So, you only rear end all other vehicles then?

I guess in relation to babies on board, or young children on board, I can more or less accept them. But Ive seen "Showdogs on board", whats the f**k is that all about, oh so if I lose control at the wheel im supposed to swerve and kill the old age pensioner on the pavement then rather than mess up a standard poodles' hairstyle

I think these signs are all just 'look at me' signs, potentially dangerous. I would never have a sign in the back of my car.

*coughs*

O okay since you asked mine says:

I can only please one person a day.

Today is not your day, and tomorrow is not looking good either!

Its my polite way of saying fook off!

Must admit, i always slow down when i get to Bristol due to the slip roads coming onto the motorway. On one occasion, a car pulled out onto the lane in front of me, did not match the speed and i noticed the back window full of stuff; a family going away on holiday, i had to break quite sharp to stop going into the back of them. Good job im always that extra careful of keeping my distance and slowing down. Would not a good way to start a holiday

On the other side, i once arrived at a very busy junction to find a woman in a 4x4 with little ones in the car, on the wrong side of the road, had it not been traffic lights, i dread to think what would have happened and im afraid everyone was pointing at he and laughing

always give them a wide berth, translated baby on board means, im a harassed parent, kids are playing up in the back of the car, im late for where im going, so paying no notice of what is going on around me

These signs are the most ridiculous thing ever invented. Do they stop and think to take them out when they havent actually got baby on board" ive seen lots with only the driver in the car. What would happen if they had an accident without the baby in the car the emergency services would be searching for a none existant child

as above, it was said that a fireman suffered burns looking for a child in a car that wasnt there

Much the same as the car with the 'L' plate in the rear window, even when the 'L' Driver isn't present ..

well, as I seem to be the only person to have actually been so irresponsible to put every driver around us at risk for potentially causing accidents from people stopping to read our baby on board sign,I can only speak for myself in that yes, when my son was not in the vehicle the sign was taken down as my ex used it as his work vehicle as well.

" translated baby on board means, im a harassed parent, kids are playing up in the back of the car, im late for where im going, so paying no notice of what is going on around me "

all I can say is wow....again I guess as a parent I should apologise that obviously that is how EVERY parent with children in the car is and everyone else on the road is a vigilent driver...not talking or texting...not having their music too loud...not running late themselves ...not having an arguement with their other half....not being distracted by having a bad day at work...so not paying attention to what is going on around them....

Many times though, the people who need the reminding are the idiots with these signs in the rear window.

Lots of them drive like lunatics and seem to forget about their "precious cargo".

Not at all, as we said "many times" not all of the time.

And we have seen "lots of them" driving without any consideration for the "Baby Onboard"!
