There's a reason there picking on Arabic holiday destinations in my opinion.
They want to starve them off tourist money creating a vacuum for there ideology.
If I was the type of person that holidayed in Tunisia(and im not)I wouldn't let this put me off, statistically it's a very low possibility |

I know what you mean but this is the second attack on tourists in Tunisia this year. It would certainly put me off.
After saying that, they could mount the next attack almost anywhere. We are driving down through France next week to Cap d'Agde and I'm pretty sure the mad mullars would love to have a pop at that place. Then we drive on to Spain and I think they would love to attack anywhere there are British and/or other northern European tourists.
They certainly have the manpower in Europe and you can be certain they will have the weapons.
Be careful out there folks. |

"is there any suggestion the two attacks today are linked?
Only that they are both in the name of Islam."
thanks. Just read most of the people dead are European tourists and a number of British. |

Condolences to anyone affected.
However, what is often lacking, at times like this, is sense of perspective as the government likes us to feel threatened so it can justify more control of society.
Between 2000 and 2011 in the UK 57 people died from terrorist attacks. In the same period, 10,776 people were killed by murdered/manslaughter.
In fact every year there are over 100 deaths during or following police contact.
There are more than 12,000 Muslims in prison in England and Wales, yet only approximately 100 of these who have been convicted of terrorism offences.
Let the facts do the talking not governments and tabloid newspapers. |

Hard courageous men machine gunning innocent tourists lying on a beach.
Tunisia was trying to get itself back on its feet after testing times. Very sad. |

And the point of singling out one group is exactly what?
77 innocent people were killed by Anders Behring Breivik, a far right white christian (he wrote "I consider myself to be 100 percent Christian.") |

sadly there's a big difference between a single person acting in such a way and an organised group such as IS. They called on followers to increase attacked during ramadan and there's been quite a few as a result. Somalia is yet another affected. |

The sole purpose of todays attack was to cause instability in Tunisia because it borders Libya on one side and Algeria on the other. IS want to control the whole of the N African Med. Libya is already a lawless hell hole, Algeria is hardly stable and Tunisia is very vulnerable. More of this shit will happen, be in no doubt.
Todays attack was simple terror attack designed to destabilise the Tunisian economy. The targets were tourists simply because they bring in the money. Let's not forget that when it comes to savagery for savagerys sake, most innocent deaths are Sunni v Shia or other infidels that exist in the Islamic State. It was estimated that 120 civilians have been executed by IS in the last two days alone, just in Kobane.
There is no comparison between a lone gunman/assassin and a group fighting for a long term strategic goal and the problem with these people is that they are unable to see past their religious ideals of their own interpretation of Islam. |

It feels a very sad day for me it's compounded knowing there is no solution within the foreseeable future
Good humans are being dragged into tribal war
Good humans of the planet please watch starwars 456 and realise this hate that is deliberately being propagated by a minority is indeed the contagious "dark side"
Other than that I have no solution |

The best upto date advice is always found on the foreign office website. This will advise you what the current travel alerts are.
Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt & Turkey have been on there for a while.

I personally wouldn't choose to holiday to any of the above but then again I abstain from flying on certain airlines too, I've become over cautious with age!

Terrible stuff, so sad for everyone concerned and their families. Disgusting excuse for human beings, whatever the cause they believe they're doing this in the name of.
I've been to one of the hotels being mentioned, about 7 years ago. The staff were lovely. This is likely going to achieve its aim of having a devastating effect on the tourist industry, potential for so many to lose their jobs. |

I'd say its time to put up the 'walls' around the countries there, and let them get the hell on with it.
I could say so much more - but that sums up how I feel about it all, in a nutshell. |

Spot on there, ISIS, Al-Qaida, Boko Haram and all these other groups are the modern day Nazis, and they need to be crushed like the Nazis were. |

I expect the FCO will update their alert soon to ~ against all travel to Tunisia.
such a shame tho as their economy was starting to benefit from the tourist industry.

the ironic thing about what you said is that tunisia is the one country after the "arab spring" that didn't go to pot... that had fair and free elections.. has the most stable government.. and actually has one of the main islamic parties in the governing coalition.....
so isis go after the thing this does most damage to the country... tourism |

Many scholars disagree. Read up on the split between Shia and Shiite's.
Shiite's attack Shia's mainly because "they are not Islamic enough".
Let's not forget the major power that has brokered, and indeed supplied military muscle, to bring down Syria. The same one who whinges about Russia reclaiming The Crimea.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
So many pointless deaths and a very sad day.
The Mosque attack in Kuwait during Ramadan and during prayers shows this isn't all Muslims. It's a sick, violent extremist minority.
I have been moved by the peaceful, quiet integration and sharing of the Big Iftar this week. By seeing Muslims around me doing daily tasks to help others as they should during Ramadan.
May the injured recover and may the dead rest in peace. My thoughts are with their grieving families.
