Blunkett being interviewed.....still refusing to take any blame for labours mishandling of the economy. No blame whatsoever for the debt. (And yes I know it is not ALL their fault....but NO BLAME at all?)
They have no future with this attitude surely? |

it was funny actually... when milliband said the same thing about taking part responsability for getting us in this mess in the question time leaders debate, i think that was the point where i thought I can't vote for him....
i am going to one of the leaders hustings... and it will be interesting to see if any of them take any responsability |

"I`m not a Labour supporter but what caused the WORLD crash apart from Labour. The cheating banks."
Agreed....many factors. But labours pigate spending certainly didn't help....
And unless they ALL face up to it they will remain out of power for a long time! |

Hello Bedbath2,
that is only part of the story.
Gordon Brown formed three regularity bodies to monitor the bank's operations but in practice it seems that none of them foresaw the problems or if they did they did not act?
Also, towards the end of their term in office they went on a spending spree, hardly living up to the 'prudent chancellor' image he had cultivated.
He was always on television saying 'We are investing in xxxx', I don't think we saw any return though?

The reason other countries recovered quickly is because they kept an emergency reserve fund back. Gordon Brown spent ours leaving us in a situation not much better than Greece.

Raided pension funds of billions, sold off the gold reserves for way less than market value at a time when gold prices were already at a 10 year low.
Where did all that money go?
Much to answer for |

We are not Labour supporters here but we did think David Blunkett’s points were good and well made.
Let us not forget he is no longer an MP so does not speak for the Labour Party.
He has always voiced the opinion that it is no good to keep going over the past (he even said that when Labour was in power after Margaret Thatcher’s time).
The task is to look forward and plan for the future not fight the battles of the past.

The whole world suffered apart from Canada, Australia and a handful of others. The Labour party were not responsible for those countries. Why should they accept tge blame for American Sub prime lending?
Least we forget, the conservative goddess M H Thatcher ran debt at a higher proportion if GDP than the last labour government. Can we move on now please? |

personally I despise Labour.
but I've got news for you, the credit crunch leading to recession had very little to do with labour.
other than the fact they were in charge- but the ship sailed on market regulation years before |

It's full public knowledge where the money went, why don't you just look it up!.
And your pensions were hammered by the financial gurus you gave your money too, much worse than what brown did!.
