Our laptop is fitted witth cam, can you also load another cam onto it to use instead of the fitted one?

As long as its got a usb port I dont see why not. You will probably need to disable the built in one as well so that it uses the right one

Yeah for sure.

The software you use (chat client or IM client) will just give you the option to select your device from a list of how many you have connected.

I`m assuming that any software downloaded would be found in your Programmes menu so click on that to open and turn the camera on. Some PCs will detect the camera when you plug it it if the PC is on when you do it and will tell you in the bottom tool bar.

Most webcams come with a software disk, just install it and it should be ok.

If its an old webcam they sometimes wont work.

Thanks all, lapptop is 1yr old, new cam is a "trust", fitting it as the old eyes cant see the chat, as cam on laptop is in fixed position, if you know what I mean

will have a mess around with it when I have some time.
