I have just got a turntable, after many years without one. I'm really excited about getting lots of mine and the old vinyl inherited from my parents out this weekend.
I am struggling to recall my first album, my memory may be jogged when it is all got out.
I remember getting my first 5 singles at Woolies -Layla by Derek and the Dominoes being one of them.
Do you remember yours? I'm thinking this thread will give me some good ideas for more vinyl to look out for.

"I never bought singles, but ma first album was Queen II on the day it was released 8/3/74. I bought it with some birthday money, I was 12 3 days earlier "
Good choice of a first album - I am not sure there is any Queen in my collection - but I can't remember half of it. I have a fair few singles, all in some really naff plastic storage case! You probably got more for your money with albums! |

I was listening to Maria and Breaking Glass the other day on You Tube - Blondie really was bloody gorgeous! |

She certainly was!
A couple of years later it was Kim Wilde's debut album.
I think I had a thing for blondes in those days.
Not any more, I'm definitely multicolourist! |

"My first single was Relax. Oh! The innocence. My god fearing mother turning the volume down hoping no one would notice. "
Ha! How times have changed hey! When I lived at home, I was the one telling my Mum to turn it down, as she always had her music on mega loud! |

"The first one I can remember buyingwith picket money I saved as a kid was 1984 by Van Halen, funnily enough that was back in 1984!"
I once threatened the guys in the NAAFI if I heard jump one more time that night I would take it off the juke box. |

I totally agree, it's the worst song they ever recorded!
Sadly their most popular. |
