Okay, about to start another night trawling various Spanish (and Italian) websites trying to plan our summer hols. Wish me luck!
Unbelievably they a different word for almost everything! I mean, why bother? Who'd've thought?
I'm beginning to think watching re-runs of Fawlty Towers won't be enough after all

I would recommend Alicante and where the famous juan beach is, its a nice area, its where we will move to next year.
By the way Spanish aint that hard, just need to learn to conjugate the verb, it fun  |

In Spain, it is "polla".
In Central America, "verga".
In Cuba, "pinga".
They also have different words for what you do with it.
In Spain, "follar".
In South America, "coger".
In Central America, "chingar".
In Cuba, "singar".

Quick update:
It turns out most sign-language is universal, speaking slowly, in a poor imitation of Manuel, and with much shrugging of shoulders, can just about get you by.
I can now reliably ask for 'dos adultos y dos estudiantes' without having to hold up two fingers and indicate 'this high' for adults and 'down here' for children.
They still have loads of different words for things, and one of them turned out to be 'tripe'

Amazing time thanks, amazing country, so far seen cave paintings from 40,000 years ago, almost intact roman remains, muslim palaces and giant cathedrals.
But my French, German and Latin are proving woefully inadequate for guessing Spanish words

Our phrase book has three spanish languages, but no clue which bit goes where, only that they get really cross if you get it wrong!
It doesn't help that our map has different spellings to our sat nav either! |
