Never been a "Royal Family" fan and never really liked Ricky either... But

This guy has just donated £1 million quid to Ronald MacDonald House at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool...

All of a sudden, he is my top geezer of the month!

Well done to him

Little known fact but Ricky was a frequent visitor to the bedside of Norman Wisdom in the months leading up to his death, he would make the journey over to the Isle of Man on a regular basis to see the man that Ricky saw as the king of British comedy....just to sit with him and read to him.

So how much of your personal savings do you give to charity?.....The man has just given a Million Pounds of his well earned income to a worthwhile charity and all you can do is spout off about his politics....how picky can you get?

Come back to us when you donate a Million....

"a great man...

isnt it refreshing to find that a tv celebrate still cares so much about people that he is prepared to do so much.

i think many could learn from this. sort of restores your faith in mankind a little.

Ok...I have to say it...whilst laudable, why was this made public?!! Personally - and the operative word here is personally - I find grandiose gestures such as this tacky!

Good post, and so true, mind you half of them on tv are not what I would call proper celebrities!

all i can say is, just as well Ricky Tomlinson didnt think it was a tacky gesture otherwise Alder Hey would be quite at a loss

It actually speaks volumes of the man that he APPARENTLY hasn`t personally seeked publicity about what he`s done and is refusing to speak to the press - so I`ve heard.

well at the end of the day it is now public what he did. perhaps this isnt a bad thing as it may encourage others to dip their hands into their pockets to join in with the fundraising

actually it was the press who found out from people at Alder Hay so in his defence he wasn't the one who leaked it... and like others have said he isn't giving inter_iews to the press about it either...

When I worked as a Volunteer at Great Ormond Street, you would be surprised at the people who come in unannounced and donate and you'd never hear about it
