i know one of the very few people who had it done and after about a year needed glasses again. however even though they need glasses again they say it is definitly worth it just for the chance to not need glasses |

My mum just had it done and has had major problems including a trip to Edinburgh to get further operation done on her eye as one of her eyes seemed not to take to it properly. She seems to be doing better now but wishes she'd never had it done. I think she's just one of the unlucky ones though coz most folks seem to think it's worth it. |

I, Jack, had mine done back in 1994, after 20yrs of wearing glasses.
I'm now 53 and don't even wear glasses for reading yet.
It's only a matter of time though, as it's just part of the ageing process. |

"happy with my glasses. always say, I may not have sex appeal but I've damned well got specs appeal XX "
There's nothing wrong with specs, and I'm sure you look lovely in yours
I've always been a sporty person and playing games, running, swimming and gym work is not always enjoyable when wearing glasses.
I took my boys swimming, and didn't have my specs on. I couldn't see one of my lads and noticed a group of young kids jumping in and out of the water. One lad, who I thought was my son, jumped in and splashed me, and I grabbed him. It wasn't my lad and I nearly crapped myself when I thought about it later, and what could have happened if someone saw me grab a young kid.
I arranged to have my eyes sorted there and then. It cost me £800 for both eyes to be done, and it's money well, well spent.
I would recommend it to anyone. |

awww thanks Jack, mwah xxxx
due to having a problem with the tear ducts in my right eye, laser surgery is not really an option for me now as much as I would love it to be.
Fortunately, I can see a bus coming before it knocks me down lol xxxx |

"i might have to look into it a bit more then, maybe spend more time without my glasses on to see what people think.
not sure if the fact i have diabetes will affect it or not though "
not sure they will touch you with diabetes as there is always a chance of the cornea going thin due to the illness plus the stuff at the back of the eye ..there is a professor who works for optimax who is brilliant and if anyone can do it he can you may be suitable for insertable contacts they put them in your eye and you never have to bother again |

I've just had the free consultation and then they quoted £2,500 for both eyes. Me being the haggler that I am naturally said, "Fook that!", at which point the lady dropped the price to £2,100 and then I played me ace and said "My sis and her hubs had it done last year with you guys so I'll take their 'Ambassador' fee, thank you very muchly," and she dropped the price by a further £300 to £1,800, which was my original ball park figure.
Just need to get it booked in for December now. |

It depends on the type of treatment you need, but it is still being advertised at £395 per eye by Optimax, which is what I paid back in 1994. |

cant fault optimax - 3 members of my family and myself all went there, no problems at all
you can also sometimes find discount vouchers on ebay where they sell off the unpopular time slots ..or used to

I have an astigmatism that can't be treated with the £395 surgery and I have to have the LASIK option. I also opted for IntraLase which is part of the LASIK surgery but it uses a laser to make the initial incision into the eye as opposed to the mechanical method used in the cheaper option. Apparently. lol |

I only had mild short sight, but I had an astignatism, but I was able to have the basic treatment. I had mine 16yrs ago and the treatment is much more advanced today.
Anyway, best of luck, you wont regret it |

My eyes are very different, short sighted in one and long sighted in the other, and I wear glasses to prevent over-tiring one or the other, mainly for driving and reading etc...
I don't need to wear them when I go out socially.
I too like to wear my glasses as a form of barrier. And yes, I lower my barrier when I go out and have fun!
Besides, glasses make me look a tad more intellegent I believe!
Therefore, it is unlikely I would go and have my eyes laser corrected. |

I see my glasses as a barrier between me and the rest of the world and that's why I don't like them... as for looking more intelligent..."wearing glasses while you say "would Sir like his cock carressed?" does not make you posh, it just means your lovers 'arrive' in the way they are accustomed to. |
