Some of the stories are so hot but I get lost in dire grammar. I'm no grammar Nazi (im dyslexic so often make mistakes) but when there are constant errors it ruins the story. Anyone else get like this? |

"I like it where someone is claiming to have written the story and it is full of American spellings of words "
what sort of sad wankers would say they wrote something they didnt !
giving them the benefit of the doubt ,maybe its just their spell checker
yes it does annoy me if something badly written ..surely basic English isnt too much to ask if you gonna publish something online

Surely, it is the thought that counts. |

"Hate the ones that keep stopping begging for comments asking for more, just finish your story."
Yeah I was reading one with "want more" every 3 paragraphs. I didn't finish it |

"Hate the ones that keep stopping begging for comments asking for more, just finish your story." this annoys me too.
I read one the other day with the "more'question after every small paragraph that no one was responding to and they just kept adding more anyway.
Wonder what they would do if people said no thanks. |

That's life. We can't all be Will Shakespeare. I can understand the frustration though. It can ruin a good story. |

Fortunately my grammar's not to bad although write everything on the phone and don't alway proof read before hit post message. I've never gone ott on the do you want more but it's nice to know people are reading your story and liking it |

Depending on what method you write a story on ie laptop,PC,phone can make a big difference.
I tend to write mine in stages on my phone so it becomes very easy to miss bits when reading over it to correct mistakes.ive seen myself read over my story 5-6 times, post it then see a mistake.
At the end of the day it's the effort that counts, and minor grammar mistakes don't bother us when reading a well thought out story. |

What I've written my stories, usually on the phone, I always 'proof read', but still I notice a spelling mistake or even a predictive text spelling after posting. So it does happen.
But I agree, some can be very difficult to read and those are the ones I give up on reading. Especially as already pointed out, the short paragraph with 'more?' posted after.
But nobody is perfect! |
