What is it with folk in forums... Vultures !!!
If you do not like what the topic is about...or have nothing polite to say...Why bother responding with such negativity and nastiness ... do you thrive off the drama you then cause |

A lot of them hide their sexual frustrations and negativity behind a veil of larkish humour. |

Instead of letting it roam free like some people, eh SB? |

I think the behaviour puts lots of people off the forums. There are a few very prolific posters and this can be off putting too because the posts can be very vehement about certain things. New forum posters do get shot down or toyed with and certain groups are treated as second class citizens. Its not a good feeling, which is why I am here less and less |

I wouldn't say prey, they're more like rats or vultures looking for a carcass to pick at.

I believe in being honest. |

If you're going to post on Internet forums then expect some trolling. Human nature!
I'm not going to get upset by anything anyone says or does on a faceless anonymous forum and I'd advise everyone else not to either!
Just see this place as an entertainment resource, let things slide off you like water off a ducks back and I'm sure most people would get maximum enjoyment out of the whole forum experience! |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
Calling people vultures who post as an opener. Surely it's not every poster or you'd be one too.
How are people to respond to your OP, OP?
Sometimes people get passionate about what they are arguing. Sometimes they are in a daft mood. Sometimes they've eaten cheese. You don't know what's going on for people at the time that they post.

My biggest flaw is that I'm childish and bored.
So when I see sweeping statements, usually stupid or offensive ones, I respond to them with equally sweeping statements which show the ridiculousness of the post.
It totally gets people's backs up, especially when the sweeping statement makers think they're being clever. |

I lark about a lot and play the fool. I would probably piss a lot of people off if I behaved like I do on here in the real world. I imagine I am of no consequence to nearly everyone on here, so it's just a place for me to let off steam. I hope I'm never nasty, that said, no doubt I've probably rubbed a few up the wrong way, but c'est la vie. |

"Some people have different opinions that they like to express.
C..."
There's no problem with that, providing that they recognise that everyone has an opinion and is equally entitled to it, and that just because it's their opinion it doesn't necessarily mean that they're right - and as such they have no right to belittle someone else for having a different opinion. |

Some people thrive on drama, some are passionate about the point they're trying to make & some are just plain bitchy.
Take it all with a huge pinch of salt. |

"It's really a "hecklers" paradise here...so you have to be thick skinned."
Definitely have to be thick skinned and very laid back.
I'm the total opposite and a very sensitive person.
Tell me why I join in on the forums |

Me too, that's why I clown about and do my best to avoid situations where I might get into something unpleasant. I have still managed to get in the odd spot of bother though |

I have to agree there seem to be certain people dominating the forums! Sometimes it can be friendly and obvious banter and other times quite bitch with a nasty sting!!
This seems to happen on all forums and chat rooms. I often find myself being called a fake which annoys me! I'm far from fake, but I guess you just have to accept the opinions of others, ignore them and carry on regardless!! |

Passion is all good... However when they start to be rude about/to someone then it just becomes nasty... Over the years not only myself but others too have noticed it's seems to be same people waiting to pounce and throw in the negativity |

"Oh we all love a good debate..but when it comes to being just down right rude for no reason other than attention...then it's just nasty "
Respect and politeness cost nothing and should be standard here
If someone posts something that you think deserves a nasty response, then consider that you have the option to report the poster, or keep quiet.
It's not about having a sycophants dream chain of posts, as variety of opinion and ideas work well here. But we don't need a toxic culture that is upsetting or alienating for some. |
