Why do some people on friends lists not reply to msgs?? Why are they even there in first place?? Strange ones

I have a very simple way of operating. I make friends first and then we add each other to the friends list thingy.

I've also found that it's a two way thing. If you chat to them they chat back. If you have friends who ignore you then get better friends.
