We all know that women are inundated with messages on here. Many times messages are unread and deleted (frustrating) some are read then deleted (fair enough) but many are read, yet not deleted. I always wonder why.... If you're not interested and bombarded with messages from others, why keep them, clogging up your inbox?
Just a thought. |

I'll counter that with another question, why keep checking if they've been read? |

Me too. I really can't be arsed hitting delete and just let them fall off the end.
Are inboxes situated on cliffs ? Often wondered"
Dunno but your first pic is scary |

I'm amazed anyone would spend a moment of their time watching what other people do with their mail.
I think if it was a post box you'd be arrested or at the very least moved on. |

Cause I'm lazy. Also, if I keep them in my inbox I can easily see if they messaged me an identical message three days before. |

You can easily see they have been read, so not a case of 'keep checking'. I was in a habit of keeping messages I'd sent until they either received a reply, or got deleted by the recipient. I subsequently learnt to delete them anyway - as almost no one replies to the male half of the species anyway, lol! |

I know I have said this before but hey I'm going to say it again , I think the sent box is a waste of time. Think some would get on better if they didn't worry once message was sent. Just what I think. |

Stop looking at your outbox, the cause of so much angst for something so trivial.
Delete all your sent items, if you get a reply.......great. If not.........you won't know and no big deal, assume they're not interested.....simples |

We used to leave them to see what happened next.
The impatient ones that sent another message within hours/days got blocked.
The rest we sorted through eventually and replied deleted,

So you know where you stand. If someone deletes you know it's a none starter. Not saying that's the right way to do it but it's probably what most do. |

You can pretty much assume that if someone doesn't reply to an initial message then it's a non-starter. |

This is exactly why i rarely can be arsed sending messages anymore. |

I see. Now and again we send a message that the recipient doesn't read and we always interpret it as lack of interest it truly didn't occur to us that it could mean anything else. |

It doesn't. If it's read and deleted straight away it's no go. If it's read and not deleted there's an ooh there's a chance here. Only to be deleted later and your dreams crushed lol. I delete my sent items when I feel like it. My inbox I will cull to usually the last message again when I feel like it. Both are currently all chit chat anyways. |

I wish someone would tidy up my box. .....It's littered with unwanted messages, expired cock pics and dashed hopes. ....
I'm in the can't be arsed to delete camp |

For me read and not deleted means I'm not interested but thanks for messaging.
If I delete it generally was an offensive message, asking something that is on my profile, or a story!
Would love to be able to reply to all but don't have time. |

Bone idle me. Sometimes I read them, even if they do not have the `code' in the title. Then I think `what a knob, he can't even read' and then I get distracted. So that's why I don't ... (oooh what's going on over there .....) |

Some of mine are kept to reply to at a later date.
Some of them I read to get rid of the yellow but didn't want to delete straight away as I don't want to look rude doing it when they're online.
Plus then they sometimes take offence and message again. Which shows me that I was correct to delete in the first place |

I do that. Mainly because I can't be bothered to sort them out. Also I get messages from people who are odd. I don't want to block as it can make the forums awkward as I have found out. So I just ignore and keep for future reference. |

Same here, though messages may be saved for many reasons, including to give attention later. |

The trouble with putting a 'code' or keyword in your text for people to quote in a message? Some find this patronising and won't include it even though they've read the profile word for word.
It's yet another hoop that many like guys to jump through. Before we were a couple if I saw such a request on a profile I wanted to message I'd ignore it. Messages were often answered.
It seems to be a safety net people can use to both bemoan others (generally men) and to justify not responding to messages.
There are as many couples and women as guys that don't read profiles.
You don't need an excuse or reason not to reply.
A 'keyword' is probably putting off a lot of people you might be interested in.
