It occurs to me that the much criticised 10% pay rise awarded to MPs will pale into insignificance next to the fees some of the artists will be paid for a few minutes contribution to this event.

Well, it that case, i hope the BBC play on repeat "Things Can Only Get Better" and remind us all just how much that has cost the country, and still counting.

I thought most of this was amateur musicians, community choirs etc. performing up and down the country? Did I misunderstand the brief for the day?
