Good evening Fabbers
My what a glorious day, I hope you have all had the opportunity to enjoy this sun. It’s here at last , my where has he been hiding ?
The Pooch and I had a little natter about the music for this evenings walk. We fancied making play lists for each other and see who can impress the other .
I have made a playlist for my canine friend of live cover versions. I hope this will impress and surprise him. I was spurred on by a fantastic version of Dolly Partens, Jolene
So today’s quest is
What’s your favourite cover version of a song?
Mine gosh so many to choose from but I do like Springsteen’s live cover of Jersey girl originally by Tom Waits .
The Pooch Loves The rainbow connection by The Loves originally by Kermit the frog lol
Well worth a listen
Have fun ?

I've got may of the "Punk Goes Pop", which has many modern day hits done by rock bands, they're very good (if you're into rock). But my favorite has to be A Day to Redeemer's cover of Kelly Clarkson's Since you've been gone. |

Kermit's original version of Rainbow Connection is actually one of my favourite songs of all time.
As for covers, Gary Moore's cover of The Messiah Will Come Again is exceptional. |

"Oh, and Whole Lotta Love by Goldbug - funny that both were one hit wonders, but still managed to make cracking covers?"
The King Curtis and the Kingpins version of Whole Lotto Love is pretty fantastic as well. |

Quite partial to :
Jason & The Scorchers doing Dylan's "Absolutely Sweet Marie".
The worst cover ever?
Amy Whinehouse - "Will You Love Me Tommorrow" - utterly dreadful (worse even than SuBo's Wild Horses shite) |

Wouldn't want to comment on SB. But Melanie Safka did an excellent version in 1974. She's sort of been forgotten but take a listen on Youtube. |

Excellent version.
There's also The Flying Burrito Brothers cover too.
There are claims that Gram Parsons actually wrote it (uncredited) with Richards. Aurally, that sounds highly plausible. |

Awww, Taff - is that the song I told you about?
Fellow Fabbers, if you do nothing else tonight you should give this a whirl....it's well worth it.
Google "The Riptide Movement - Jolene". They're an Irish group and their version of Jolene is epic! |

It's the best musical ever wrote and I dreamed a dream is probably the best musical song ever wrote.... And I just didn't see what people cheered at!.
What because she's fat and grey and is slightly loony and didn't look like she could sing but then sang average at best!
I saw Ruthie henshall do it 20 years ago and nobody will ever compare |

Oh my.. years ago, I used to scoff at covers. Then, I grew up, and learned to appreciate them, and actively hunt them down, just because they can sometimes add a new ingredient to a classic recipe.
A lot of covers I like have already have been mentioned, but here are a few more..
Dave Gahan - Love will tear us apart (I am a bit biased on this cause I love Dave )
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ne1usQOVE8
Korn - Another brick in the wall
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roz8l0kd2xA
Kylie - Love is the drug
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ahl8KnZAMg
30 seconds to mars - Stronger
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJu770gscW8
Rammstein - The Model
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7C6W0M5ME0
Lo Fang - You are the one that I want
