bike safe/bridging the gap

Anyone done any of these courses?

I've signed up for the bridging the gap course this weekend at St Asaph.

Saturday is the bike safe course with the police and the first bike on the scene first aid course that's more specific towards car/bike accidents than general first aid.

Sunday is a taster day with the IAM instructors, been thinking of doing the IAM program/test so seemed a good way to see what they're like.

Anyone done bike safe or an IAM. Course just so I know what to expect?

Essex.

I haven't done a bike safe course but everyone I know that has done it, has thoroughly enjoyed it...

Good luck and have fun...

southend

I bought my housemate the Bike Safe for Christmas just after he passed his main bike test.

He said it was a fun, relaxed, informal day, but there was a couple of things advised to him by instructors that were then contradicted by insurers and a police friend of his.

So I think it promotes common sense, but you still have to use it!

Hehe yeah with the ones up here I've heard a fair few tales of being advised to use both sides of tte road for maximum visibility when safe but obviously not always the most sensible thing to do.

The first aid course is something I'm looking forward to.

It's been a bout 2 years since I did my last one and that was mostly for mountain/climbing situations.
