it would appear I'm suffering with it for the first time tgese past few weeks. I've been really ill with it and thought I was having a heart attack at first.

Wakefield

Had it for over 15 years but only on Omeprazole for the past 10. The dosage has been reduced over the years but without it I still get the symptoms after a few days.

Yes it was, after they did an endescopy and they could see the state of my esophagus which was apparently very swollen/irritated.

Same here but mine comes any goes, has done since I was about 14 and didn't see the gp till I was in my late twenties.

Wish I had gone sooner to save many years of crippling pain a few months at a time.

OP, ranitidine is a good idea while waiting for a doctor's appointment it stops your body producing excess stomach acid.

Gaviscon/Rennies only coat the acid to stop it from rising but it's still there.

Had a stomach reflux since I was born. Was on omeprezole until I was 18 then lansoprezole since. Ranatiadine and gaviscon dual action also help with re lining to reduce mucus

Been on omeprazole for years, fantastic stuff, small dose every 12 hours keeps the acid at bay
