"Going on holiday soon and can't decide between Mexico and Cuba - any help?"
For me the choice right now would be easy. Now that Obama is talking to Cuba and there are some flights from the USA to Cuba I'd go there before the Americans ruin what is a fascinating country filled with beautiful people. Give it two years and there will be a Macdonalds and KFC on every corner and you might as well be in Miami. Mexico will still be there and unchanged whenyou want to go somewhere else. |

I've not been to Cuba in about 10yrs. Last time I went we were instructed to stay on the resort compound but I've heard it's changed massively since then so I'd love to go back and see more.
Mexico is amazing depending on where you go, I personally adore Cozumel. |

Cancun is to be avoided at all cost but Mexico is an amazing country - don't just stay in one place, travel round - black beaches of Ohaxa, central highlands with ruined cities, Mexico City is something else and the Yucatán is steamy jungle and more stunning ruins.
But I've not been to Cuba, so I'd head there |

I went to temptation resort in Mexico last year (adults only) and can honestly say it was the best holiday I've had.
Whilst that wont assist in the debate, do look it up as it is well suited for swingers |

Cuba zero hassle from locals closest I got to being pestered was sat in a bar waiting for a taxi and the barman noticed I'd near finished my drink asked if I wanted another, when I said no thanks he asked if I'm sure this was in a market town where you could pick up any item safe from comments like 'cheap as chips' 'asda price' or 'that is only .......' Add that to the beaches, the sea and no Americans Cuba is amazing only thing is beware when using credit cards some get rejected because they are connected to American banks (or did when I was there in 2008) |

Barmouth for us as well. In a tent. I wouldn't go to Mexico. Hasn't it got one of the highest murder rates and the police are very corrupt. Screw that. Barmouth here we come lol. |
