Actually, that's a lie - I can afford one I've just chosen to go without until I need one. |

As soon as you come to get one, u will soon realise how the hell you managed without one. When my first car broke down n had to use public transport, I was shocked at how much time was wasted to standing around waiting for busses |

Your probably living in a place where busses are actually real n not a myth like those in manchester (majority of it, nearly all busses in manchester seem to run down Oxford Road past the uni n nowhere else) |

You're having your car serviced at Kwik Shit? Have you listened to nothing I've said?!
The last place I'd send a car is to Kwik Shit. Be prepared for either skipped service items, mangled sump plugs or a long list of faults they've found (usually brakes) that don't actually exist. |

"What cars do everyone drive?

My hubby has a jag. I have a cute, sassy Mini. His car is an economic chugging-along diesel, slow to tick over, steady acceleration, no surprises but a very comfy ride, giving the passengers a relaxing journey. My car is easy to manoeuver, very responsive when accelerating or decelerating and is an exciting ride, giving the passengers a memorable journey......need I say more????? |

Only the Veyron.
The Ferrari, the Aston, the McLaren and the Lambo all go main dealer.
Them kwik fit fitters are experts with Bugattis.

I move house & country every three months or so. Haven't driven a car for years, many years.
Rode horses for over twenty years, much more fun than cars.
Was in Sicily before here, a woman friend from the West Coast US stayed with me. She has just qualified to drive trains, really. Bit more power and larger than cars crap paint jobs though.

My beautiful black & pink flowery VW beetle got written off on Monday afternoon. Beyond gutted.
Will be car hunting as soon as the insurance get round to telling me how little they will be giving me. |

My 19 year old Pontiac Firebird is currently taking a break following a drive shaft failure at Christmas, and while it's off the road I intend to give the whole car a major mechanical overhaul - including a full engine rebuild - and I need to sort out a few areas of paintwork.
In the meantime I am tooling around in a hateful little Toyota Yaris. (That belongs to an elderly Aunt who recently went into a care home)
Honestly, this is the worst car I have ever driven, but it is keeping me mobile |

What's it like getting parts for a Firebird over here?
I've always wanted a Trans Am to build/restore but parts availability has always put me off. |

No problem with getting parts as there is a strong US parts industry here in the UK.
Ebay is also pretty good.
I sourced all the parts I needed to do a T-Top conversion from ebay - including the Glass tops.
Some of the suppliers in the states also ship to the UK.
Rockauto looks pretty good - though I haven't used them yet. Parts are pretty reasonably priced too, but watch out for shipping prices on small low-cost items.
I need to get a new pair of hatch struts. Rockauto has them at about $9 each. Quite reasonable, but with the shipping, they come out at about £70 for the pair. |

Sounds like it's comparable to most European cars then. I knew engine parts would be fairly easy but wasn't sure about the rest.
I k ow it's corny and been done to death but if love a Bandit Trans Am. |

My next motor will be a 2002 WS6 (Ram Air) Trans Am, but I also quite fancy a 77 Black and Gold SE (Bandit) - That might have to wait a few years.
Will be keeping the current car for my son for when he's old enough |

I keep getting the itch for a new car. Even though I haven't finished the install on my current one. Done well with this one, managed to keep it for 18 months. Would love the new type R when it comes out but even an FN2 type R sends my insurance to £2500 |

I'd be very interested to hear these updates audio systems That manufacturers install.
Was at a Range Rover dealership with the salesman telling me about this Range Rover model which comes with a £4500 sound system which is rated 1700 watts. Seems a touch over priced and under performing ! |

My Alfa GT has the Bose 1000w system. It's more about sound quality than overall volume and bass. The sub is 10" and adds depth to the sound rather than being in your face. It's perfect for rock music but I doubt it would be much good at modern dance music. |

Yes. We have the Harman Kardann upgraded sound system in ours. It is ok but nothing really special. Albeit listening to Two Tribes very loud is kind of scary as the music attacks you from every door and footwell! |

My subs are only 10" they just happen to be 3000W of 10" they're one of the best subs on the market, I only got them because I got an awesome price on them.
New they're around £600 each
If I'd of bought them new. With the amp, wiring and the enclosure its a £2000 subwoofer that I run, it's fused to a total of 300amps |

One trick I've found for improving sound quality on any system is to improve the sound deadening. Being an Alfa driver one of the first things I did was lift the carpets to check for corrosion in the floors, while I was at it I laid some dynamat and the difference is very noticeable at any volume. |

That's my next thing to do is get as much sound proofing in as possible. I get serious windscreen flex, It will set car alarms off in 30ft radius.
Stuff I've looked at is £80 a box, gonna need 3 boxes. What did you use? A cost saving alternative that's good quality would be much appreciated!
Also whilst improving the sound quality it will also improve the SPL inside the car |

To be honest I've no idea what the brand I used was, I got it from my detailing supplier. I just asked for Dynamat... I think it was about £40 a roll but I'll have to look through my invoices to be absolutely sure. The improvements in sound quality were noticeable immediately. Definitely worth doing even on a standard stereo set-up. |
