I like the show itself but I find him quite awkward when he interviews people, so my question to this fine forum is... it time for him to step aside and let someone else present this fine musical show?

Nope.....it is his talent and personality that attracts such an eclectic mix of guests. The show without him would be like top gear without Clarkson. It would not exist!

I've know a few folk that find him irritating, but he's a talented musician and probably a draw for the wide range of artists he gets on the show.

It wouldn't be the same without him.

Who could replace him though? Jools has become an institution. If/when he gives it up I dont think the beeb would replace the show

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Unlike Top Gear they'd have to change the name of the show if he goes.

I think other musicians genuinely want to play with him and that's the draw. He gets acts that aren't featured anywhere else on terrestrial telly.

I hate the lame interview bits and think they should just cut those back to a 30 second intro/one question format and play more music.

Nope he's a good presenter and musician and doesn't waffle pish, which only gets in the way of the music. Non sycophantic as well which is always a plus.

It's a good show and he's a good host, though there are plenty of people could do it.

My only criticism is that I would like to see more of the lesser known talent. No one should get 3 songs like the big names do.

I wish more people would get out and see more acts their local promoters put on. Every series of jools I can point to around 10 acts he breaks that I've already seen, but can easily name far more just as good that haven't appeared.

6 music luckily picks most of them up

As has been said I think Jools himself attracts some of the acts,so I doubt you could put Toby Anstis or Ben Shepard in and get the same performers.

The big acts getting 3 tracks will probably be a contractual thing.

As pretty much the only decent music show on TV these days,we should embrace it-dodgy interviews and all
