Anyone had experience of using this service for resolving family affairs in divorce? How long did it take and was it expensive? What's the waiting list to get a CAFCASS liaison person? Thanks guys x |

Have you tried Family Mediation?
CAFCASS are used when there are issues to do with children. When you apply to the court about say contact, they are sent a copy of your application. |

Cafcass are a well meaning bunch of people who can provide a valuable service, however they also tick a box for the courts. For people who have experienced a total breakdown in their relationship and seeing their children they might also be the start of a lifeline |

I was told all child issues which couldn't be resolved amicable between partners had to go down this route now. My husband keeps saying crap like "im gonna make the kids stand up and tell the judge that you did xyz". But my understanding is that this is a separate court case where the kids are listened to, everyone has a say and then the judge decides based on the facts. Not on which parent has bullied the kids the most into saying stuff. |
