Bought Sasha an I-phone for her birthday in July, it sits in a drawer virtually unused
She bought herself a blackberry phone 2 weeks ago and is never off it, she likes to access Fab and facebook wherever she is |

Neither - Android phones are the future. My HTC Desire is so well integrated with all the various Google apps straight out of the box.. I was driving along the other day using it as my sat-nav, while listening to its music player, waiting for it to flag up the nearest petrol station for me, when up popped an old friend on Google Talk, so I pulled over and had a brief online chat with her. I didn't even know it could do that Also very handy for discreet MSN while sat with kids in front of the TV! |

If you want a phone with all the apps then get a iphone I've got a BB bold 7500... I think! Its a great phone. Has mobile broadband and wi-fi so fast internet. Great on mobile websites like pornhub, plays all the movies! Plus great access to fab, thas what I'm using now to type this. Has Google maps which were updated lastweek with streetview loading fast plus also you can use google maps as a sat nav, give you turn by turn on screen to read or you can watch yourdelf driving and a little dot moves were you are everydew seconds so you no were to turn. Camera is 3.2 mp but takes great pics and can upload then from your blackberry to fab. Also you have BlackBerry messenger, you can get other swingers pins! Mines 21671008 if anyone wants it lol, plus abig selling factor is it has a HUUUGE battery life, far more superior to the iphone. you can get apps but there alittle more pricey than the iphone. Oh I know I'm babbling one more thing, I can not use the iphone touchscreen while pissed! But the bb keypad ice ace, tara!! |

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else |
You won't get many objective views, as few people will have really tried both over a significant period of time, and those that have may find different features important in comparison to you.
For example, that big list of things the HTC desire does - both BB + iPhone almost certainly do too.
I chose a BB because
Iphone is too expensive
Iphone is always in Beta test, and I object to doing Apple's testing for them.
Iphone involves itunes and I don't want that on my PC.
BB can be treated as a USB drive.
BB handles memory cards.
BB handles all my email accounts.
BB doesn't have a touchscreen keyboard.
OP - you need to identify what he'd use it for, then determine which product best meets those needs. |

yep cant fault you the HTC desire with android 2.2 is a tough act to beat.if i lose it or its nicked i can txt from any phone and it switches its gps on and messages me back with where it is.
A great piece of kit the only drawback with all modern touch phones is the battery life. getting about 36 hours out of mine ,but as i leave it to charge every night never really an issue |

Neither...you need fingers like pins to operate the Berry...and the Ipohne is very expensive for what it is...plus you cant bluetooth to and from another brands..
Look at the Samsung galaxy or wave... |

I'm an Iphone geek.... found nothing wrong with it....
i think at the moment the general rule of thumb is if you want "apps" then iphones are the way to go... if you want e-mails, then it was the blackberry....
it might be worth your while reading this... the bbc did a test of smartphones using a nokia n8, a samsung omnia 7 and a iphone 4 to do basic things....

so easy to intergrate with the pc too. |

LOL I hate the 'sent from my iPhone' email signature, I changed mine to 'sent from my iPhone 5' just to make everyone jealous.
I have had an iPhone since they were launched and LOVE them.
Either Blackberry or iPhone you wont regret it, they are the market leading smartphones for good reason, they are as good as each other so it's just a matter of taste. Android is looking good but isn't quite as refined as Apple's or RiMs operating systems... yet. |

had a BB, and soon changed it for an iphone.
for me the BB was utter rubbish, everything it could do the iphone can do better. (personal use. not business)
plus when you jail brake your iphone everything is free. (apple lost court case so cant do anything about it)
Have you noticed all new phones are copying the iphone, if they was so bad why would they do that? |

I was never fussed on mobile phones and just had one "just in case" and never used it one week to the next.
Then I got my Iphone and some would say its glued to my hand
I rarely use my laptop at home now,as using the Iphone is quicker and easier
My one wish would be I could use the chat rooms here with it - would be prefect then |

"Have you noticed all new phones are copying the iphone, if they was so bad why would they do that?"
No one said it wasn't a good idea! Maybe the I-Phone does have more apps! Most a crap and are not used once downloaded. I had an I-phone and was dissapointed with the speed, nothing like the adverts..
I am now on Nokia until I upgrade in March, when I will get one of the Android phones. Might look at the Windows phones too. But so far it is either the HTC or Samsung Galaxy S
As far as I can see, the I-phone is just a trendy gadget all bought on way back because the I-Pod had white earphones! Just to illustrate my point, Babyliss have just released the I-Stubble????? and we saw a pushchair last week called The I-Candy!!!
Off to invent something so I can stick an "I" in front of the name and the trendies will buy it!
(Hmmm... I-PoopScoop... I-Cum Condoms... I-Pons, Tampons with a white string! What do you mean they have white strings anyway??? ) |

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else |
"Iphone is simply the best mobile device around! "
Someone said this at work earlier (I don't think it was you...)
He was challenged to come up with something that the iphone did that no other device does, objectively (ie with no subjective "nice" remarks)
He had a think, suggested the accelerometer, was quickly shot down and has not been heard from since. |

Iphones are just so tacky. I have a itouch and if it was my phone it would have hit the wall a long time ago..
I have had an andriod phone since they first came out.. wouldnt have anything else now..
Although may have a play with the new htc windows phone.
My nearly 18 month old htc hero does as much as any of my friends iphones and stuff theirs does not.
I do quite like the new blackberry touch phone though, but I think I would soon miss the andriod operating system.
Make sure it has the type of touchscreen you want as there.. I do like the new samsung though the galaxy s I think it is with the front facing camera.
another iphone alternative is the Dell streak. It is big though.

You'd get an I-Phone for the apps???? Most of the important ones are available on all platforms, the rest are dross! I got rid of my I3 cos it was too slow and even my Nokia is quicker! The HTC and Samsung phones are great and one of them will be my next phone with Android. (Unless I like the Windows Op system) |

If you want a fun phone then iPhone is the way to go, but if you want it for the office then the bb is best for that..... Now anyone who has an iPhone on here who spends money on apps games etc..... Then you need to 'jailbreak' your phone for free apps and games.... Any questions |

you are never going to get anyone to agree on this... lol
I was one of those that basically said i was never going to get an Iphone and had had a nokia since I could remember... But then after a lot of ribbing from friends I finally bit the bullet and got a 3gs 13 months ago...
love it!!!!
you do go a bit "app happy" at the beginning.... but now it has gotten to the stage where I keep the ones I use... also with the size of the memory it doubles as a spare mp3 player now was well as well and having the room for podcasts and using the t'internet... |

I am a self confessed gadget geek....
I have had sooo many phones over the last few years I have lost count.
Jo has an iPhone and is brilliant, but so is my Blackberry. Have also owned a HTC with android (although not the newer versions)
All depends on what you want from a phone really.
I had a Blackberry Bold 9700 but just changed to a Torch 9800. That is the best of both worlds, larger touch screen (not quite the same size as an iPhone but not too shabby) and a slide out keyboard. Battery life so far seems good, not quite as good as the 9700 though, but to be expected as has a larger screen. For facebook, id actually say the BB is better than the iPhone, as its now integrated into the phone contacts etc. You also have blackberry messenger.
The HTC Desire HD is also a good phone. Screen is huge, very very customisable. The OS is always been updated. The processors are so so much better in the HTC's now and are lightning quick.
If your sold on the iPhone over the BB, then take a shot of the HD desire first.... maybe not as pretty to look at, but does far more than the iPhone will ever do.

Download Opera to replace the standard browser.
Google maps is better than blackberry maps and will do routefinding (although not sat nav)
Poynt is a good local search tool.

You get a whole day battery use?
hell I have chargers everywhere, I can run the battery down in three to four hours, esp when travelling. I ran out of charge in Stansted Airport and had no charger so went into currys and stuck it on a dock to charge it enough to get me through the flight lol |
