Not literally bloody, but...
Does anyone have any tips to help it? I've used the kit where you put the tablet inside yourself and the cream. Did the tablet yesterday and it seems to have dissolved as it should, cream's helped with some of the swelling and the redness but it's driving me bonkers! Does anyone have any tested tips to get it to go faster or do I have to be patient?
I did sit in a lukewarm bath earlier and that worked wonders to soothe it but I can't sit in the bath all day  |

Or salt, not too much, obviously - but those pessaries should work. Only get it these days if on antibiotics, but had it bad back in the uni days (too many years ago to count). |

yes natural yoghurt works wonders better than any treatment you can buy at the pharmacy or on prescription.
Has for the somewhat naive 'I wouldn't mention it on here comment', don't worry about that, yes thrush can be contracted sexually but it flares up naturally in women for a multiple of reasons, usually by hormonal changes. Ive never had it other than during my first pregnancy with my twins, when my hormones were sky high, id get rid for a few weeks then it would be back it was a nightmare |

A handful of salt in the bath or some bicarb in a warm (not hot) shallow bath will help with the itch.
Get a bottle of tea tree oil and add between five and ten drops to your bath to help keep it at bay in future. Don't use any of the female freshness products as they can trigger it, as can highly scented bubble bath and gels and soaps.
Keep some balance activ or rephresh (both available at boots) in the house and use of you think you're getting out of balance - when you can tell somethings not right but before you get a full blown case, it can sometimes ward off a case.
And the yoghurt tip is a good one, just make sure it's sugar free. Keep it in the fridge and the cold is soothing too.
Oh and avoid biological washing powder and fabric conditioner. If you get lots of recurring cases iron your gussets with a hot iron and wear cotton and loose clothing. |

Could possibly be as it can flare up as a form of allergic raction to new hygiene products so if you suspect its that Id advise to stop using it |

Yeah, I've tried the oral one when I had the infection before but the internal one's seeming to work a lot better for me. I would've thought it'd be more logical to put the treatment where the problem is. |

. I think the medical research shows its effectiveness though. The spores will be around most of us but an orally taken fungicide will be ready to fight infections wherever they may start to occur. It will probably knock out the populations of them on your skin.
Clean towels and clothing with non irritant products, same for your body. |

Thrush occurs naturally in some people, in others it doesn't - it's just one of those things if you are affected by it (iirc 25% of the population suffer thrush, with some showing symptoms and others not).
Some meds can cause thrush - antidepressants and asthma meds are those I know of - have you started any new meds recently - it could be the cause - worth a trip to the docs if you have, to get your meds changed!!

FYI - Two other factors could compound the severity of the irritation:
1) whether your washing powder is bio or non bio...
2) the combination of the warmer weather and the fabric type of your underwear. Stick to cotton for a while.
Also - worth Keeping yourself well hydrated to reduce the acidity of your pee. (Preferably Not with wine!)

My ex used to suffer with it - canesten cream used to sort it, the lactobacilus in natural yoghurt has anti fungal properties too, as already suggested. Ringworm (tinea cruris) has similar symptoms (not a worm at all, it's another fungus) - Daktarin works for that, but in women it's usually the candida fungus, so I'd try the canestan first. |

I feel your pain as i have had thrush countless amount of times. Perfumed products will irritate your natural balance so always stick with plain no scented soaps and bath products, just plain old fragrance free. Tea tree oil is good at soothing the itch at the time and also regularly after the thrush has gone, just a few drops in the bath at a time. basically keep with the cream 2 to 3 times daily and if you need another pessary use one of them as i found in the past that one isnt always enough, you can get a tablet form too if the pessary really doesnt work. And im sure you know this already but dont scratch it as it makes it worse, i really hope you get rid of it soon |

I'm just going to add something , it's just what happened to me.
I suffered really badly with thrush at one point when I was married , it seem to go on for ages and I would just get clear and would end up back at drs again. In the end my doctor actually gave me cream to treat my husband. Turns out I had passed it on to him and as he showed no symptoms he kept passing it back to me.
Oh and before anyone says anything I didn't have sex with him knowing I had thrush but I had had sex with him before the symptoms were apparent. |

Hydrocortisone cream pref with steriod. . Cheaper than canisten. Thrush is bacterial so yoghurt being a bacteria will just feed it and calm the itch. I got it terrible when i was pregnant.

Warm salt water baths work for me... and have started using BV active too. Works a treat. Never had it as bad as you seem to tho. I use sanex in the shower, but be careful of your shampoo/conditioner too as that runs down your body and can also aggrevate your lady parts.
I have a very sensitive twinkle and look after it all the time.
Ps... too much sex can also give you thrush!
