Aww cute. We wanna hang our box but we have a assassin kitty that decimates any bird population we could potentially have

that could be the reason they have used it this year cos a lot of the cats we had round here are gone

We had tits in our box for 2 years running,I was obsessed with watching them

Then a load of bees took it over and wrecked it,the bottom fell out of it

yes blue tits and the rest of the tits Will be feeding young now in the boxes There will be a mass exodus has they all Fledge in a week or less and the calls of babie tits will resonate from the tree tops only a few will survive but enough to carry on where their parents Left off the following year same with any bird life really or nature in general.

This last few years I,ve had tree bees Nest in a compost bin quite a recent Species of bee to come to the uk but Spreading further up north now, they Often get stuck in my conservatory and While I,m trying to get them out doors They buzz and they show their resistance To being forced out some nearly as big as my thumb, along with other bees and Wasps etc

Mmmmm cats have a lot to answer for in that respect. Interestingly there appears to be a maverick fox round these parts that is taking on the cats at night... And winning.

Two dead cats in the last few weeks, others mauled and a large number of wild birds saved as a result. Don't get me wrong, I would not wish bad on any pet but if this is nature hitting back at the cats?..........

Yes I,m not a fond lover of wasps thou they may do good in the garden they always seem to have a chip on their Shoulder any that prove easier to dispatch I will as I won,t take any chance,s with that sting of theirs I saw My first hornet last year in our conservatory it was hugh a sting from a Hornet would be a trip to the hospital I released this fellow to, very docile Compared to a wasp but also a rareity to me.

My blue tits have babes in the box too. I'm guessing they'll be out in the next week.

Bet ready to put the babies back in the box, they don't always master flying first time. So you might find one on the floor now and then.

Have done some photography, but you have to be style to get the best pics

A bullfinch not so much rare but Depends on where you are perhaps scarce Back in the 70,s a few pairs nested near Our local allotments along with a few grey linnet with open farmland alongside But even so I Imagine over that period of time numbers of birds of most Species Will be down from what they used to be but again in the right habitat some things Can still stay the same in many ways.

"update ... didn't hear them yesterday hubby looked and there were two but both dead im gutted"

That's a shame, but bluetits can have a clutch of 10-12 eggs at a time so it's likely that several more survived and have flown the nest. We've have a bird-box cam and we watched our bluetits bring up 10 hatchlings and 9 survived.

Did you bury them? At least just in a simple hole thats about one foot deep in your backyard or something...

We have consistently had tits in our box for the last 5 years (It's attached to the house just above our kitchen window, so no predators or pests can really get at them).

Love watching Mum and Dad flutter back and forth with food while I'm cooking or washing up.
