Mine did this recently. Needed the filter to be emptied as it wasn't draining.

Are you sure someone didn't break in 2 minutes before you got back and start another programme just to confuse you?

It's a possibility!

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Turn it off. Turn it on and see if you can put it on the drain programme and take the washing out. Clean the filter and then try it again.

We had this recently and cleaning it worked.

also depends on what model it is

digital can throw a fruity every now and again and if wont play ball you will need either a new pcb board or a new washer

analogue twist dial you can get the dial and replace it or replace the washer

id rather have analogue than digital any day

Most people tend to washed on a 30 40 wash these days, you may need to put in some Calgon on a hot pre wash 90 not loaded.

This will clean all the crap, gunge in the pipe works, water levelling system etc.

Do this to dishwasher every now & then.

Two options,

Option 1 turn it off wait five minutes then turn it back on again (standard advice from Tech support if my computer at work dies- rarely works and they havae to send a compter person after that).

Option 2 take large hammer, hit offending washer many times with great force, then have glass of wine. That wont work either, but its more satisfying than option 1.
