Hi
I know this is totally not fab related but you guys have more experience than me when it comes to cars.
Looking for a cheap runaround for my son. Under £1000 and no higher than 1.3l engine. In Glasgow area.

You'll be lucky to find anything on a forecourt.
Keep an eye out as you're driving round. Bargains can be found in unusual places. And try to make sure you have someone knowledgable with you when you test drive it etc |

Get him a Mazda RX8 that's got a 1.3
have a look at VW fox or VW up, or a seat arosa. I'd avoid the typical corsa, saxo etc as they insurance of them is usually high. |

NISSAN MICRA!!
One of those would take a nuclear blast they are solid and don't seem to die, see loads of old ones still around and usually under £1000.
In fact £1000 wound get you a pretty good one |

EBay, just be sure you view it in advance and take someone who knows what to look for.
Mate of mine was always getting bargains off eBay driving them a bit then selling on for more, especially if you're prepared to travel for them. |

Try gumtree for bargains or if you type in 99p to £900 on Ebay search that usually throws up some good bargains and they'll be listed closest to you first. |

Not a conventional choice but have a look at Toyota starlets they're 1.3 and plenty on auto trader for under £1000 some with 75,000 miles and around £650.
Just don't confuse it with a Toyota starlet glanza |

"A lad at work just got a 1.4 peugeot 206 with 44k miles on it for £1k. He's 21 and went with the first insurer he phoned - insurance was £1,100 as I remember. "
My younger brother had one of these, might as well be made out of cheese.....gotta be one of the worst cars for build quality......I used to love Peugeot but after owning a few it dawned on me how shit they actually are......at least they look pretty |
