I have it on my bum.
Used to get really hung up on it but I realised it was ME putting myself down for it whereas most others didn't give a shit.
We still let potential meets know though, as I don't think my confidence would be helped by someone going "Eww, what's wrong with you?!".

Basically, it's a skin condition.
It can't be helped.
It doesn't mean you must be "dirty" or "unhygeinic".
It's not contagious.
It just doesn't look particularly nice.
But more people have it than you may think. x |

Iv had it since 17 hate it but learned to live with it thankfully didn't have it as a child as kids can be cruel
And yep more people than you realise have it and medicines an lotions and potions are very hit and miss and quite unique to every individual as its an auto immune thing and learns to outwit what's used to help and then need to try sumit else |

I suffer in 4 places at present - the left hand side of my head, my left hand, the very top of my winkle and my left leg - all, in my opinion, down to stress - sadly there's nothing I can do about the stress, though with a deadline looming in June I may get some respite!!
E45 and aloe based creams - or see the doc!! |

"Thanks , I will look at trying some of your suggestions.
I had a bad experience with a couple , made me feel really small. I had explained how bad it was before we met. !!!!"
How rude.
Don't let it get to you. It sounds like you had a lucky escape. x |

Sunlight and vitamin D has been the best for mine too, but because of where it is...
Well, you can't really get away with having your arse out in public, lol.
Most of these lotions and potions mentioned made mine flare up. Bathing it in plain water and tanning beds seemed to make mine much better. x |

From the National Psoriasis Foundation website ( yes it does exist !) -
Choose your medication carefully, don't make any rash decisions !
Sorry that joke was a bit flakey !
And others, in other words they suggest you shouldn't let it get you down |

I have it on my head.. daughter gave me some Egytian magic cream I tried this week massaged into scalp which was pretty dry and shedding.
Left on overnight, washed yesterday and this morning scalp is clear and normal pink apart from two tiny patches which I possibly missed.
No itching so far. Will check again in a few days. |

"I have it on the crown of my head & the base of my scull - I call it my 'crown of thorns' ha! - It hurts like Hell when it flairs up & I've always felt deeply ashamed of it & must say that I've found this thread surprisingly helpful, educational/informative & reassuring! - Who knew Fab could be so broad in its reach & appeal!! - Thank you to all who've contributed & the op & best wishes, one & all Rafa x "
Coconut oil is also good to moisturise the scalp. I leave over night soaks in well. Stops the itch. |

I've (female half) have had it since 17. It's progressively taken up accommodation on ever part of my body. Stress definitely contributes to it, and I have a variety of lotions and potions- from what I have been told that your body eventually gets used to it and it stops working.
I've unfortunately not found a magic cure for it.
Do people find vitamin D supplements work? Xx |

You know I've never seen a dermatologist. I've been told mine isn't severe enough. Steroids and immunosuppressants are always a last resort, but that's great that it's cleared I have steroid topical cream and goodness knows what damage that is doing long term.
I've been told that maybe having a baby would be the way getting rid of it..took that with a pinch of salt!! xx |

I have suffered with it for the past 27yrs. Mostly on my arms and legs and because of it I have a very low self esteem. Stress is my main trigger but in this day and age stress is part and parcel of life |

Sun light usually helps. I knew an army guy who has it, while overseas in a very hot country it went, since begin back in uk it's back. Try a sun bed for a while minute just don't go on for to long, skin cancer isn't a good thing |
