So while posting on another thread I quoted my mum saying

"if you're old enough to swear you're old enough to pay rent"

This is a rule I plan to enforce when I have my own household, so.

What rules did you have as kids that you still enforce?

While our kids were growing up we always ate at the table and only allowed fizzy drink at Christmas and birthdays same as when I was growing up . We still never have fizzy drinks in the house but we often eat our dinner on our laps now.

They Should be brought up to know how to be Polite..
