They tend to be higher in alcohol content because the grapes enjoy more sun so they are sweeter. Sugar=alcohol. Countries include Chile, Argentina, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

I'm not really into all that wine tasting oneupmanship. My dad loves all that stuff but ends up getting fleeced by the vintners. I only have two questions: Is it less than a tenner? Does it taste nice? All else is just fantasy for people with more money than sense. | |||
