To wink or not to wink?

Jump to: Newest in thread

I've read some people don't respond to winks, I've seen some profiles that say "give us a wink"...

Personally, I like to wink, show interest, if it's not reciprocal I'll know by no response.

Anybody got any other thoughts?...

Burton upon stather

Don't bother with them it just looks like you have nothing to say.

Winking is easy, writing a message that captures attention and intrigues them into responding is not.

If a wink comes from a good profile I may respond,I don't feel guilty if I ignore them either

I don't blame guys for sending a wink of interest when the majority of thought out messages get ignored or deleted

I love winking both IRL and on here.

I have been described as a total winker many times.

Incidentally with Platinum Site Membership you are not limited to one wink a month to the same person and have unlimited winks all day. The fun I have.

A wink takes a couple of seconds so you've not lost much effort. No point if profile states don't do it!

As with messages, busy recipients may not cope easily with the volumes - so don't assume others can immediately drop what they're doing, in astonishment at having received the sum total of 3 seconds effort.

I respond with a wink if intrigued or interested, though a months lapsed time must pass before you send another.

I must admit, I never look at my winks, so they are a bit of a waste for me

I like winks.

I wink when I see s profile that interests me and am not sure whether I am their taste. So its testing the waters.

That's how I treat the ones I receive, as testing the waters. If they are local and I like their profile I will wink or message back.

As others have said I don't bother about ignoring a wink whereas messages are more of a pain.

I've had some very good things start from just a wink.

Read the profiles and wink the people who tell you to and message the ones who say don't wink.......easy

True.

I do both. If someone really hates wink then I won't send one but I totally disagree with some people calling them lazy.

We'll look at people who have winked at us, but I can see why some people don't use them.

The age caught you but even if it had got through that you'd not class as local by any stretch of the imagination

I like to wink, it shows im intrested as it says so on my profile, but im sure the majority are just ignored, likewise when i write a message thats taken time & thought to put together and send that it annoys me when they get totally blanked & deleted...

If someone winks me i ALWAYS check out their profile, if they're not my type or too far away i always send a message of 'No Thanks'

It doesn't cost anything to be nice

I have reached the conclusion that it is a futile exercise. Unless you have a twitch in your eye.
