I have some rather natty black cavalry boots with horseshoe heel reinforcements.
They look damn good and people get out the way when I clop down the road
...although that might be more to do with the pith helmet and elephant gun to be fair...  |

Boots, any day - why try to appear taller than you really are?... just seems a bit vain to me, rather like a short bloke driving a BMW to compensate for his inability to reach the condom vending machine in the bogs.
Sometimes, when I see women in really high heels, I think of Germaine Greer's brilliant observation that it makes them look as if they're a cow staggering about with BSE.
