Speak to your employer, family and friends. Go and see Citizen's Advice and get help to prioritise the bills as £20 isn't going to cover paying anything if you need to eat.

My advice would be chat to your work mates , they might over to help out maybe some might over to put you up for a few days . you will soon find out if your working for mates or assholes . don't go to easy cash as you will never get out of it and try the CAB . |

House is probably too far from the new job if he's decided to live out of his car.
So what's the long term plan? Because this arrangement clearly isn't going to be able to last long. |

"Still technically living there"
But if you're no longer living there - as you say you're in your car - then your priority financially should be food and fuel to get to work.
Worst case if you don't pay the sky/Internet/phone bills? They switch off the supply.
Which won't affect you as you're not there anymore.
Concentrate on the immediate priorities.

If you ring sky and phone people and explain the situation and youve been a reliable customer before they will suspend your account for a while. I know a lot of people who have done that when out of work or off sick for a while and struggled to pay bills. Or ask them how much it will be to buy out of your contract , get cut off then dodge the payment for a bit till you get on your feet. |

I think there are companies that loan money against your car but you need to be very careful you can pay it back or they will take your car away.
You need to ask your parents or family to help you out for a week or two....good luck xx |

With the jobs market the way it is, some people have to do what they can and go where the work is. Plus, what if he paid out, sorted accomodation and moved only for the job to fall through?
I once moved 300 miles away for a job but was lucky enough to be able to stay with friends until I got accomodation sorted. |

As a poster mentioned earlier, contact all the people you owe money to and explain that you are in between jobs, with a break in your income. Tell them you are suspending making any further payments until your new salary commences, when you will put a payment plan in place to clear any arrears. So long as you communicate with these companies you should be ok. But if you stop paying and stop communicating it will harm your credit rating. |

Sounds ideal, but Dwp take the piss - an emergency loan is £7 - be better off staying in the car!! Looking round the bars for a casual job is probably the best bet until you can get sorted |

The food bank will only give food if you have a voucher from a doctor, social worker etc. See a gp and explain your situation they can give you a food bank voucher, once at the food bank explain that you have no cooking facilities and they will try and give you three days worth of food that can be eaten without being cooked. In addition to the above advice, if you are making the payments by direct debit stop the direct debates otherwise you bank will add failed payment charges to your account.
Main thing is talk to the people you owe money to.
Most will try to help. |

Cash in hand jobs, let's think,
Bar work possibly, early morning cleaning, check out the take away outlets round you, do they require leaflets to be door dropped? Also ask if they need delivery drivers.
As its been mentioned on the thread already, contacting your debtors and explaining your situation could possibly delay any further DDs until your in a position to start paying again.
Good luck OP |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
"Other than myself no not in my car anyway
I would sell My car.
Use that money for accommodation until I got my next decent wage slip.
Then I'd rely on public transport as long as i could live and eat.
Get a new job and buy a car again.
Maybe I'm being fucking thick.
The car is NOT for sale for reason I don't have to explain on here
Dude.
If I was THAT desperate, I would sell my car in a heartbeat.
/out.
But not possible if you don't actually own the car...
Well unless I'm blind or can't read he said it's his car.
In any case.
He has options. "
He does, if he can see them.
I say my car is mine but it in, in fact, leased. I can't sell it.

"You've had plenty of suggestions but seem to be shooting them down...........not much point in asking for help only to dismiss advice"
He has thanked those that have given good suggestions, don't think he has shot down all of them. |

"Look guys before commenting READ THIS I decided to stay in car incase job fell through out of the money I had I secured a few necessary minimums eg washing of clothes and shower and I am ask for help as I'm down to £20 and can't make it stretch you don't think it is humiliating enough to have no money or food that I have to ask people on a sex website for help..... thank you to everyone who has helped me I will contact the company's tomorrow
Find a local soup kitchen or food bank. They will help.
The food bank will only give food if you have a voucher from a doctor, social worker etc. See a gp and explain your situation they can give you a food bank voucher, once at the food bank explain that you have no cooking facilities and they will try and give you three days worth of food that can be eaten without being cooked. If you don't have a tin opener tell them.
Never knew that. And thanks for explaining x"
Lots of people think you just turn up and they dish out food, it isn't so. I was explaining for the op really but glad you found it informative |

I'm just thinking that if I were as desperate as things are being described. If consider all options available. |

And he says he's taking steps, he's walking around town looking for cash in hand jobs, going to see his bank tomorrow, he's already spoke to his employer, he can't sell his car as he's living in it!
