Oh well if the criteria is to make it big, it's unlikely we'll have a huge number of them. Obviously didn't retain all the info on the OP.

I consider anybody who dies at any age rust is not a natural age.

Especially in younger years is tragic.

Regardless of whether I liked them or not.

It's tragic as fuck.

Biggest one that sticks out in my mind is Jade Goodey. . That was just so sad.

And I still can't believe it.

Anybody who dies at that age is utterly, utterly tragic.

I have no preference. They are all tragic some more so than others.

I predicted someone would mention Jade Goody. How can I forget? March 22nd, 2009. Mothers day. I remember crying for her two boys, Freddie and Bobby.

It was also the day that I confronted my ex, my daughters mum, about the fact that she had been seen with another man. A humongous argument ensued, and it emerged that she had been meeting men for sex during the daytime whilst I was at work and our little lass was at school. Truly a terrible day, one of the worst of my life so far. My heart went out to Jade's boys. And my own was shattered, I am still vulnerable.

I find the jade goody case odd. Obviously the fact she was taken young by cancer was a tragedy but the was alternately vilified then demonised then beatified by the press was particularly horrific

"Rik Mayall.

Can't believe it's been a year since Rik 'the people's poet' past away. Even though Ade ruled out that he and risk would work together, I always hoped there would be another bottom style series. "

I went to see Rik do three Bottom live shows and The New Statesman comeback in Bromley a few years back. I honestly cannot remember many times in my life I have felt quite so content as sitting there watching him and Ade on stage.

Oh, and I can probably quote all 3 seasons of Bottom word for word...

"Folk that died too young in my book are those in accidents etc those taking drugs self inflicted so they decided their time was up.

Not true at all"

Yes it is true, if you overdose on drugs because you're too high to know what you're doing that's your fault.

Getting cancer, not your fault.

Driving safely and being hit by another road user, not your fault.

Getting shot by someone who doesn't like what you're saying, not your fault.

You see what I'm saying here?

Oddly reading this thread while watching one of the autopsy series. This one's about Marilyn Monroe. It's sad actually when you see how badly these people on the series where let down by people supposedly so close to them.

if a person overdoses on purpose then its suicide..if its done unintentional then its a tragic accident and not the fault of the person who died getting wasted on recreational drugs..its stupid but a person don't deserve to die for it

"...died too soon..." according to whose timescale? There is no too soon. If there was there would be standing room only the planet.

Every death isn't tragic, death is inevitable.

I'd say JFK or Martin Luther King but without their deaths change might not have come. Most of the names mentioned were big and some of them had reached the pinnacle of their career so it's good not to see them produce albums or films that were below par. Also sorry but people who take drugs know there is a chance of an overdose so they have a choice not to take them. Its not tragic, it's a waste if you ask me as think what they might have been able to create without being stoned?

For me I wonder what Metallica would have been like if Cliff Burton hadn't died?

He seriously needs to sack his agent.

His agent is a twat and has ruined what he had.

I'm not a Liverpool fan but the whole thing has turned into a right shit storm.

It's only a waste if you don't do something positive with your time!.

As for being stoned, well name me a decent band who produced anything good, who weren't stoned on something or other!

I'll take jimi Hendrix over coldplay any day

Really? Addiction is weak people who let themselves lose control.

Terminal illnesses like cancer just happen sometimes.

Completely different.

A 6 year old girl with leukaemia, that's a tragic loss of life she didn't deserve that.

A grown woman who has her familys support and a promising career CHOOSING to walk out of rehabilitation and go back to drug usage then overdosing is not tragic, it's idiocy.

Excuse me if I don't shed a tear.

I used to write songs and get it, best songs I wrote were when I'd had a spliff. I'm not saying they should be clean but perhaps their managers, agents and record labels should have done more to keep them off harder stuff?

Oh and surprised no one's mentioned him but then would Pink Floyd have become what they were if they hadn't lost Syd Barrett???

Before the internet yes I could if record companies and distributors had took a stance against drugs. Don't you think it's a shame that 1 of Amy Winehouse's best known songs was of her turning down the help that might have saved her life?
