Dunno, just back home after a 7 hour drive from Aberdeen, music wears a bit thin after a while so I break the journey into hour long segments. Treating myself to a sweet after each hours completed. |

Sleep, post on the forums here, play on phone, get stupidly d*unk(!? - sort of assuming you're not driving), see how many miles you can hold your breath for, play what colour will the next car be, or guess who's driving the car in front from their driving.

We have a 5hr drive to norfolk on Thursday morning so watching this thread with interest. 2 comfort stops helps and scouse wittering on about what we might have left at home as I loaded the car fills the remainder of the time |

I always like to play the acronym game on long journeys. Take the last three letters on a car's numberplate and make up a meaning for them, ie FE15NDS could be Naked Dance Squad. Keeps my tiny little mind amused inbetween dreaming of wrestling Nigella Lawson in a big tub of mashed potato...my preferred way of making long car journeys more tolerable   |

I try not to sleep when I'm a passenger in a car since we had a blowout on the M25 while I was snoring. Scared the crap out of me. Not much you can do in the dark except play on your phone or have a non-distracting conversation with the driver. |

I have an awful fear of lorries after a crash when I was little. And there's hundreds of the fuckers out tonight. Trying to distract myself! My mate is driving and although she sticks to the speed limit she's a scary driver. Not unsafe, just scary! |

That's so cruel I'd have a panic attack if that happened to me. I hold onto the door or seat and hold my breath when we're overtaking a lorry. I was only 3 when we were hit by a lorry but I remember it all.. It didn't actually affect me until I started to think about learning to drive.. That was like 4 years ago.. I still don't drive! |

I was put off driving until I was 29 because I had recurring nightmares about my wheels falling off lol I talked myself into it by telling myself that if my friends and family can do it I can. When I passed I got straight in my brand new Micra and drove to Southend |

Am I too old to play 'sweet or sour'? Waving at people as we drive past! I used to love doing that as a kid!

Am I the only one here that loves a really long drive in the night?!? Best thing for a long night journey is to make a playlist/cd with a mixture of old and new songs that mean something to you or bring back memories! Even if it's just a memory of a damn good night out! I love doing that and then reliving the time whilst I'm driving, I've had fits of laughter remembering some nights, tears with some songs, singing at the top of my voice being back at a concert and just gone 'oh my god, I've not heard this in ages' and started singing and dancing along...music always keeps me going...I do most long journeys on my own so my car is my stage without any disturbances and I'd deafen passengers if I had any!!!! Hahaha! |

You could play the game me and the lads who used to lift share to collage used to play.
"Kill us all" grab the wheel and attempt to take the car into any obstacle you can see, if your in the back seat covering the drivers eyes or strangling them with their seat belt is a god option.

Why was she scared?
They're lorries they're hardly likely to swerve into each other at random.
Only issue is the inconvenience of waiting for the over taking lorry to move past you can pull out and get back up to speed.

we used to play the pub game with the kids - you can adult it up a bit - take it in turns \and each time you pass a pub count legs off the name - so the queen vic would be two - the lion would be 4 - etc - who has the most legs by the end wins - you can say what you would do with each one - or not do -

Teenagers now so the worst it gets is changing the music via their phones and some arguing that a bit of shouting at soon sorts out. But yes, fully know where you're coming from, can be very stressful.
