"for something realistic and reasonably priced i quite fancy a rover p6 3500, or a g31 Ginetta, just have to keep watching ebay etc "
P6 a great car, didn't it win awards for being one of the first cars to have all round discs brakes |

Not sure but they where definatly innovative and pretty advanced for there time, under rated and still abit unloved now. |

Had a few over the years. 4L Jag, Fiat X19, Mini 1275GT.
If i had the space, i'd be very tempted to invest in a future classic, the Jaguar XJ6 (X300 series) Supercharger. If i had yet more space, something like a 67 Lincoln Continental lead sled |

"Talbot sunbeam lotus oh wait already had one ?? have to be an Austin Healy 3000 gt convertible or a tr 6 "
There was a beautiful TR4 parked at the cafe where we stopped on our bike ride yesterday; off white with a red interior, absolutely mint condition. |

All the original Cobras were built with an AC Body and a Ford engine
The original car was called an AC Ace which Carroll Shelby modified to become the Cobra |

"I wonder how disappointed most would be if the dream did become reality." nah, I've driven one of my two ultimate dream cars - wasn't disappointed at all.
I own enough other classics to know I won't be disappointed. |

"I have a replica of mine, AC Cobra.
Only a lottery win away from making it an original not a replica.
Classic AC or the madman Shelby version?"
Madman Shelby but without the 7.2 litre V8. So possibly not quite so mad actually.... |

Seen a mint condition Jensen Interceptor today, I thought it looked awesome.
I've been looking at buying one with my redundancy money if i get a job quick enough, I've seen a Ford Sierra RS500 i like the look of, an Audi Quattro would be cool too. |

"I wonder how disappointed most would be if the dream did become reality."
I've driven mine and it was as exactly as I expected. Calm and relaxed. Nice thing about cars from the 50's/60's/70's is they're simple to fix (as long as there's no rust). |

I'd have an Austin Healey frog eyed sprite please.
Also for the practicality of it and think it'd be great fun to own.
A vw camper van. Split screen of course, parsley green and cream. |

Always had a soft spot for the mostly forgotten but utterly brilliant and quite exquisite Citroen DS.
Rarely see one around these days!
If anyone has one I'm open for a swap on my 1976 Toyota Celica 2.0gt |

AC cobra in classic blue and white stripe livery, or a MKII Morris Minor Mini Cooper in white. Of course, I have a Defender 90 200tdi that almost counts as a classic given its age, but it hardly has the sex appeal, although it is a damn site more comfortable for sex |

Forget the mk2 RS2000...
Mk2 Escort Harrier, had one a few years ago and had to sell, regretted it ever since. Originally limited edition, 1500 made in 1979, 1000 in white, 500 in silver. Now thought to be around 200 left. |

Another vote for a quattro here... although a classic Aston DB would be wonderful to look at, but I bet the quattro is the best classic car to drive. |

It was the first to be awarded European Car of the Year. And not only for the all-around discs. Crumple zones in the base unit, collapsible steering in the event of a front-ender. Many innovative safety features for a car of the time. Rover used to be a great company. |

"Now saving my pennies for a Rover P5B Coupe"
Had a saloon for thirty years now. Lovely cars with more leg & headroom than the coupe, not to mention the wooden window frames missing from the coupe. It's prettier, though the saloon gives you more car for a little less money. |

P5 or Merc SL.
Erring towards the Merc from a reliability for daily use point of view but as I have a TR2 already fulfilling the 2 seat weekend sportscar role the Rover has the advantage of 5 seats.

I'd also kill for a Lancia Stratos, probably cant fit in one though. Thinking back to my childhood a Ferrari F40 or F355 would be a dream come true, same with a Metro 6r4, i've seen the McRae's do incredible things with them on the Donegal Rally |

"I'd love a Morris minor convertible. In English white with I blood red leather interior!!
Or, an Austin A35, that would suit me pretty well "
Moggies and A35s are great little cars. I've had a few Mogs, still got one but never had an A35. Might have to hunt for one, they look so cute! |

"P5 or Merc SL.
the Rover has the advantage of 5 seats."
True five-seaters only in saloon form. Coupe's have individual rear seats. Six seats if you get a P5 saloon with front bench (great for BJ's on the M1) which ceased being an option with the Mk3. With the P5B individual seats front & rear became standard though a rear bench was optional in the saloon, which ours has. You can fit three abreast in the rear of a four-seater but try not to be the one in the middle. |

"If you are a person who loves cars what classic car would you love to own. Mine Jez would be a Triumph Stag or a Rover Sdi 3.9 vitesse"
There was a Triumph Stagg being renovated on the programme 'Wheeler Dealers' on Quest last night. Interesting, it said the problems associated with it is due to poor maintenance of the radiator and hoses.
Anyhow, my favs are the iconic Citroen DS and of course the vintage Silver Ghost. |

I'm into my yanks so would have to be a 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Special Edition. Quite like the 3rd gen Corvette too. Currently got a 96 Pontiac Firebird. Planning on getting a 2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 for my next car |

Not a classic as such but I'm on the hunt for a MK1 Toyota MR2 to restore and keep.
Used to pass one on my way home from school every day and I think it was my motivation to do well in life to have cool things like cool cars. Seem to be doing ok so I need one in my life. |

"Anyhow, my favs are the iconic Citroen DS and of course the vintage Silver Ghost.
Oh yes, the DS has serious style!"
I too would happily own the original DS, that or another I wanted of the Citroen range was a HY van to convert to a horsebox when I had a farm.
You have to be a certain kind of person to appreciate a classic Citroen |

Would have to be an MG midget for fun or a Saab 96 for practicallity. Was offered a saab for free years ago but turned it down as it was a non runner. Kicking myself now. Had a shot of an old Renault 16 a few years back. Strange using a column gear shift but it was really comfy and all the seats folded down to make a double bed. Happy days!!!! |

They are seriously expensive now, usually starting around £55k.
A friend of mine used to have one, used to destroy motorbikes going around a roundabout
Clutch used to only last 6000 miles though |
