I think it's often the case. We are drawn to people who are the opposite to what we are ourselves, whether that be friendship or love.
Can't say this has ever happened to me with any particularly close friend though. Not that I've had one of those for a while anyway! |

I've got some friends who are very very different to me, but it's people I've been friends with since I was about 3. If we'd only met as adults I'm not sure we'd be friends. People I've got friendly with as an adult are relatively similar to me. |

I suspect anyone with a circle of friends will find some that are similar, some that are the opposite and some that are somewhere between the two.
If all someone's friends were virtually identical I'd assume that was as much down to the individual and the type of people they choose to mix with, as much as the circle of friends themselves.
For every case of 'opposites attract' there'll be one of 'like attracts like'.

"One of my best mates is totally the opposite to me..
She is Catholic
She believes in sex before marriage
She doesn't swear
I assume you meant she DOESN'T believe in sex before marriage! "

My best friend through my late teens and early twenties was the opposite to me....very outgoing, extremely self confident and always had a girlfriend. Very opposite to me. But it worked together as friends.
Unfortunately we lost touch, it would be interesting to see how we are now by comparison.

I have a mix of friends; some similarities and some differences, some with shared values and some not. The ones I spend most time with have at least one common passion or important experience we have shared. |

You mean platonic friendships outside of fab?
They are always very similar to me.
On fab? ...I definitely gravitate towards a certain type of personality. For sure. |

In Fab and out of Fab I talk to people who I like as people. I'll naturally gravitate towards those who are interesting, fun and intelligent.
On Fab, of course, I add in the extra criteria of Fit as Fuck |

I tend to be friends with real girly girls who don't know the differences between guardians of the galaxy and masters of the Universe and spend the money I spend on tattoos on their hair lol |

"We see it mentioned a lot with partners...
How about friendships?
I have a friendship that totally is a case of Oppsites attract
Do you?"
My relationships and friendships seem to be quite similar people to myself. Guess it's not always about opposites. |
