I don't think we can enjoy freedom without consensual laws (formal or informal) and that is, I guess, also control. So I would have to say we can't have one without the other. |

When you recognise the elements of control that are exacted over your life you can take steps to remove them thus gaining a degree of real freedom.
I'm not talking about society's rules, that's not real control. Government ministers do not have real control as they are subject to the same laws of nature that we all are - they too will die someday.
When you know what Control is you can smile knowingly and set yourself Free.
Here's a clue:
There are 6 Illusions or Con-Tricks in play controlling your life, and 8 Weapons with which are used to do it.
The 6 Illusions are:
* Government, The Law & Country
* Religion
* Relationships
* Media & The Image Makers
* Bosses
* Money
The extent to which you believe in one or more of these 6 con-tricks is the extent to which you are NOT free.
These con-tricks are the vehicles through which people who want something from you operate, and they want them from you without giving anything up in exchange.
* They want you physically controlled
* They want your money
* They want your respect
* They want to use your talents
* They want your time
* They want your knowledge
* They want your reverence
... and in order to achieve this they use the 8 Weapons to extract value from you, which are:
* Force
* Fear
* Guilt
* Lies/Misinformation
* Sense of Duty/Fairness/Honour
* Sacrifice/Altruism
* Image Manipulation
* Approval
~ I could go into detail about these Illusions and Weapons but it would make this post too long. Needless to say, once you know what they are you can take steps to counteract the effects they exude on your life.
You'll never be completely free as those you love without question will always need something from you even if it is nothing more than the unconditional love they give you returned to them (more often is the case that your kids require financial assistance almost from their cradle to your grave, but we give it willingly don't we.)
Is Control & Freedom compatible?
Sure, but only if you know what they really are. |
