Do you book your holiday well in advance? Or do you wait and see what late deals are available?

We are going to chance our luck this year and try and grab a late deal for our holiday in October.

I booked a holiday on a Friday and went on the Sunday. I always use a travel agents not online deals, just in case it ends up as the holiday from hell.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I don't really have a holiday as I just go on lots of short breaks and I book those just a couple of weeks before I go.

I'm looking at my fishing trip now. It's harder to arrange fishing than I thought it would be.

I'm not into planning holidays, unless it's to see my parents in Portugal

I prefer to last minute, it doesn't really matter to me where I go ... Unless it involves having to have shots ... Sometimes the more random holidays have turned out to be the best, and I've not been disappointed yet

I once had a week in Mallorca for under a £100 half board.... Booked flights via easyjet the week before and booked hotel direct when I arrived at the airport ... If you aren't that fussy about where you stay there are some bargains to be had

no matter

My son and I use Airbnb he tends to be very spontanious I just go with the flow. I want to try the Caribbean next year..maybe I will do a late deal for that. Unfortunately one gets hammered for single occupancy which ever way its done.

Booked our flight when the January sales were on, so got upgraded seats for the amount we had.

Still planning the rest!

I tend to custom build holidays rather than go for packages.

We start looking about 10 weeks before hand and usually book about 7 to 8 weeks out. I do keep a check on the holidays just to check they haven't gone any cheaper ( they rarely are)

We have decided to go to cap dadge this year in July, got return flights for £200 and booked apartment separate for £400.

We do both. One place we go is such a popular hotel that it never has late deals although the price varies so we just book that in advance if we want to go. Otherwise we will book as cheaply as possible.

Life seems one big holiday to me, I love my work and with summer being my busiest time I usually never bother.

If anything it's a planned week or two to my parents in Spain

I've been to NewYork and Paris already this year. In the autumn in hoping to do Venice, Naples and Istanbul. Perhaps San Francisco if I can pick up a cheap flight.

I have arranged late deals in October and if you work it right (book just after Children are back at school, second week of September)you can save a fortune. DONT USE THOMAS COOK

"DONT USE THOMAS COOK"

I have no idea why anyone would use a travel agency now. You just end up paying over the odds.

I book all my holidays on the web, separate flights and accommodation. Usually I use Expedia, and VRBO or AirBnB for the accommodation if I don't want to stay in a hotel. That way you can get exactly what you want and save a fortune by going direct or booking slightly weirdly timed flights. (New York we saved a fortune by going on Brussels Airline and flying from Heathrow to Brussles and then on to New York. It barely took any longer.)

Short haul hols I'll book at the last minute. Long haul I wouldn't take the risk.

I fancy Cuba, but probs won't get there this year, so it'll be a cheap beach hol for now.

Exactly this. I spend about 2 hours every day arranging travel for people, some great search tools for flights etc. skyscanner for flights, trivago for hotels and airbnb is brilliant now. I've not used a travel agent in 15 years, it's pointless.

Might want to reconsider.

We love a bit of both. Went on a planned one to Tunisia for Easter and another one is booked in South of France for early August. Fancied a trip to Cornwall for the bank holiday weekend but for the same price we've managed to get a whole week half board in Amalfi.

Some of the last minute deals are just great

when I went to sharm back in 2011, it was about a month after the revolution when they overthrew president Mubarak. you wouldn't have even known that it had taken place. On the same trip I also took in Cairo for a couple of days and apart from the burnt out government buildings once again you wouldn't have noticed anything.

I'm Not sure this particular issue will be as volatile as that, so I wouldn't completely rule out a trip to sharm. I'd say the threat of a shark attack is more likely than trouble relating to the state of the country
