What does it mean to you?
It is a word that is frequently used to describe me by men that message me.
Is it because you stand out? Does it mean you are different from others in your areas?
I take it as a compliment, do you? What are your thoughts? |

"I see it as just another word that loads of men use to try and pique an interest
"
Well all lot of women state that men need to be more creative with their messages. It is a withdrawal that i like and use... yes I'm guilty of it ha ha ha. Generally use it if i find the person intresting for example something mentioned on profile but not gone into detail about. Like i like chocolate would intrigue me |

"I suppose I think in the first point at least 1) They can spell it and 2) Hopefully they understand the meaning
I wish it meant "steve I'll sit on your face" "

"'beguiling' is a similar word but not as pleasant to actually say for some curious reason.
I think that has a bit of a negative connotation "
Maybe you're right. Wouldn't it be weird if negative words caused negative physical changes in your body? You know, slight rudeness caused a headache, real horrid stuff caused spots on your nose. |

I think they mean interesting but are either trying to sound a bit more intelligent, or don't want to say interesting in case you take it the wrong way, (like that's an 'interesting' haircut) |

"I had 'captivating' and 'alluring' from the same guy once. That intrigued me. "
I've already said 'alluring' in this thread so does that mean I can take my top off (and socks)?
I'm doing a word strip..... |

Oooh captivating.....i need to find someone captivating
I've been guilty if using intriguing....normally when a guy has a larger vocabulary than your average 10 year old "
That's a tremendous avatar...
I'm sure what you wrote was worth trading...by my oh my... What an arse?! |

intrigue (v.) 1610s, "to trick, deceive, cheat" (earlier entriken, late 14c.), from French intriguer (16c.), from Italian intrigare "to plot, meddle," from Latin intricare "entangle"
They're just trying to trick you into a shag |

"I would view it as meaning somewhat captivating of attention, with some uncertainty potentially. A raised interest in you.
It would generally be a positive comment imo." |

"I take as a sign of interest...even if that's not what they mean't. It's gotta be better than 'you're a bit shit' i guess "
Oh I don't know, I might answer an opening message of "you're a bit shit". Provided they used the appropriate apostrophe. |

But yes that's only because that's how you open most of your emails to me.
(Although, technically they normally start "You're a bit of *a* shit for that post about....")
OP: I think it means "I want to shag you, but I can't think of anything clever, witty or intersting to say, nor can I be arsed to read your profile".
At least, that's what it means whenever I use it...
