Would you??

Would you have sex with someone who obviously has learning difficulties?

would you feel like you would be taking advantage?

Or couldn't you care less as long as they are over 16 ?

If one takes the broadest meaning of learning difficulties then that would include dyslexics - oops, that's me crossed off then.

In a legal sense I guess it would depend on whether someone had been deemed to not have mental capacity, in which case they would be considered unable to consent

I have a partner with aspergers syndrome and severe dyslexia. But she knows exactly what she is doing with me. I am, however, careful to explain anything new and to get explicit consent.

If someone understands sex and the possible consequences then I see no problem with learning difficulties.

It would be a different matter if they didn't understand.

I wouldn't have sex with anybody who wasn't capable of consenting with full knowledge of the possible consequences whether that was through drink, drugs or learning difficulties.

My guidelines are:

- over the age of consent (in practice this means 18+)

- is not incapacitated through drink/drugs/tiredness

- has the mental ability to understand and give consent to having sex

then I see no reason why not. But there has to be attraction between us; no attraction=no sex.

What about if they are an adult IE : Over the age of let's say 25 but has a mental age of a ten year old.

Would having sex with them be ok too ? Would you be seeing to "their needs" as someone mentioned ?

If you mean vulnerable adults then no way.

If you mean someone who has maybe ocd. Depends on how bad.

This is a sensitive subject.

Very tricky one this, seems to me it depends what is wrong with the person. As long as they understand what's going on and have the ability to make an informed decision I don't see a problem with it. BUT where do you draw the line? There is a strong moral issue here. Perhaps in an ongoing relationship ok but as for swinging I would not be comfortable with it

This is a hugely tricky subject. People of all physical and mental abilities have sexual needs and just as I wouldn't want to see them denied music I don't think they should be denied sex....but how do you manage these things?

No it wouldn't be right in my opinion for someone of "normal" adult mental capacity to have sex with another person with only a child's understanding of the world.

If they had a mental age of a 10 year old I would suggest they would not have capacity to concent therefore you are on dodgy ground

What kind of learning difficulties? I have learning difficulties but am capable of making my own decisions and learning with the right teaching methods.

If you mean someone not capable of deciding if they want sex or not then no i wouldn't.

I met a blonde girl recently, she still hasn't learnt when she's being cheeky after meeting up several times- the bruises on her arse cheeks might be subsiding about now....does she count- she seemed to like the spanking though?

hmmm well this is interesting.

I have ADHD. Google it. Ryan Gosling, Richard Branson, Jim Carrey, Paris Hilton, Michael Phelps, Michelle rodriguez all have it, and yep, it's classed as a learning difficulty.

It means my concentration pretty much sucks balls but my brain is constantly in fucking overdrive.

I wasn't a fantastic example of a pupil at school (meaning I wouldn't have made it into their yearbook)

But, I know some perfect model pupils who don't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of.

And I piss all over them in that department now.

P.S I went to quite a posh school and my mum and dad had to battle to keep me in there as the board basically wanted me out, to put it mildly, I was that much of a pain in the ass at school.

Having said all that though, I can also solve a Rubiks cube in 57 seconds. Which is highly ironic as I probably hold the school record for the most times a pupil has single handedly been thrown out of maths class.

I think you are absolutely correct. Its all about the persons ability to be able to accept and understand what is happening. Honesty being key. Obviously, taking advantage of someone who is vulnerable, is totally wrong and dare I say immoral.

Depends on what their learning difficulty is

If they are not of an understand of what you are asking when you ask for sex even if they say yes it could land you in plenty of trouble so be careful
