I've learnt my lesson recently... My best friend of 14 years is meant to be open minded but she's very conservative sometimes. She thinks that threesomes are really wrong, never mind being on a swingers site. She thinks I'm going to be with a different person every night of the week, getting into dangerous situations when it's not like that at all.
Two other close friends know and just want me to be careful, another two close friends know - they introduced me to this site - so they're obviously totally cool with it.
Has anyone had close friends who have reacted in unexpected ways? |

only couple my closest friends know bout me being on here, and there on here too so i guess no problem lol.. also three my work collegues on here played with one and planned to play with another at the wkend! apart from that no other friends family or collegues are aware maybe i like it like that.. tbh dont think my mum wud mind lol she wud just tell me to be very careful nothing suprises her with me anymore x |

I havent told anyone im on here,its like my naughty secret.... but tbh i dont want anyone to know either.
But i do feel bad not telling my best mate this side to me. She would be cool with it once she got over the shock and the taking the piss out of me but this naughty streak shall remain my naughty secret side. |

My best friend knows and loves it! She's happy that I've embraced my naughty side...she knows me so well
On the other hand, her husband doesn't know, he would have an absolute fit. When we're out he is very protective of me, already acts like a 'cock block' not letting any guys approach me! Probably why I have to swing!! haha

I think / hope friends and acquaintances aren't aware I'm on here. I think they'd be shocked and find it a just a little bit hilarious if they did find out as they'd think it was totally out of character.

My family know.. My work colleagues know..
They didn't like it but once I explained. I'm single and I'm not hurting anybody the questions started,,, surprising how many non swinging people think it is a seedy world of sex and drugs and orgies ,,,. Ok some of it might be right...lol. Even more than 12mths down the line they still ask the odd question.. |

Most friends know, and a few are on this site. It's a bit difficult telling friends that I knew before the wife and I started swinging but nobody has been negative about it apart from one acquaintance who wasn't a friend anyway. His attitude, with no knowledge other than the Daily Mail, was that we swingers are all riddled with diseases.
The caveat is that very religious friends simply don't know. |

None of my friends know anything about any aspect of my sex life, my financial affairs or my deepest religious beliefs. If they asked me I would tell them as much as i was comfortable with them knowing but the rest is simply none of their business. |

My best friend would be so shocked!! She thinks I'm an innocent - if only she knew how much we get up to!!!
Although when she got married she told me I had to complete her bucket list - don't have the heart to tell her that there's only one thing left on it, which we're working on!

I think a lot of friends would be like yours so I keep it secret. I do find people who don't have a bit if curiosity about them strange though.

Only my closest friend (of 33yrs) knows.
She doesn't fully 'get' swinging with all it's complexities and doesn't think she could handle it at all, but isn't surprised that I took this path at all as I've always been her zany best friend.

We keep close friends totally in the dark about our sexual activities. Its our business, and part of what makes it fun, because it is so far removed from our day to day life, and friends. |

It got a bit out of hand with me and a friend's wife. They're divorced now, as she was trouble for him. Still friends with him. Otherwise friends know and I don't need to reveal all about my life style. |

some of my close friends know and as much as they don't understand fully they know im not stupid and i will take care of myself and think of my safety
It took time yes, to make them see that this lifestyle can and is safe and i don't meet all the time, its just nice to have options as nsa sex doesn't always play nicely on a dating site or facebook lol

One of my best mates is on here with her man, that little revelation has definitely made us closer. I told another best mate all about it and it's not for her but she "gets" it.
Out of curiosity, particularly the ladies, if nobody knows you're on here do you not tell anyone where you are if you're going for a meet? |

All my friends and work colleague, even my manager knows I'm on here. Some are prudish but understand what I'm like as a person and its good for me. Some have made their way onto here themselves and the others just find it hilarious. |
