Why do people stop chasing their dreams? Kids....work....are these real reasons?

Because most don't believe they can ever happen.

Most of my dreams and ambitions have been realised.

Maybe it's time I thought of some new ones.

I've never stopped. I always go for what I want but sometimes it take me some time to get my arse into gear.

Reality sinks in....... I can't be a Jedi knight , it's only in the movies lol.

I believe deep down people give up on their dreams because they will fail. The older you get it is harder to take a chance and risk it all. I suppose when you have kids you don't want to risk anything because you live for them.

What do you do with yourself once you have accomplished your dreams?

I wouldn't say I stopped chasing my dreams.

As gay as this is going to sound, I think my dreams/what makes me happy just changed when we started a family, so things that mattered to me or seemed really important before now don't mean a thing.

As someone else said, your reason for living changes...

Just where I need to be.

I have dreams and I have goals. My goals are achievable and realistic. My dreams may take many years to become reality but small steps in the right direction. Our lives change and so do our dreams.

I think this is a beautiful and similar response to hiw I feel.

I'm still chasing dreams, they've just be realigned. I'm currently chasing a dream that will change not just my own life but dozens around me - hopefully for the better! But it's not a dream I ever had as a kid.

Wish me luck!

I wanted to hear amazing inspiring stories oozing with positively and hope instead the comments are pretty negative and boring....at the end of the day the greatest achievements in human history weren't made by people who were all negative and didn't believe something incredible could happen....if I'm just deluded I'd rather fucking stay that way thank u very much

It's just 'so American' all this bollocks - guess what - very few are destined to be great or inventors - billions of us will just be born, live and die - and all that matters is family - chasing dreams - bullshit for most

You said it, not me.

And I've only seen about 2 "negative" posts. The rest, to me, were more of people talking about realising what is realistic. That's not necessarily negative.

If you wanted a certain response maybe you should have asked outright for "inspiring stories" rather than asking a question and then berating people's honest answers.
